Tonight's Family Guy

Okay...maybe I've just been dumbed down by the Simpsons, but I thought tonight's FG was one of the funniest eps ever.

Highlights:
--Opening credits (Is the Law & Order thing new?)
--Peter and Chris egging their own house
--Peter making a waterslide in the house; "If I call the hospital, he'll never learn anything."
--"Captain Crunch was here!"
--The Dead Poets ref
--Stewie doing the Robot; "Let's see the kid with the hearing aids do that!"
--Stewie playing with the dead body
--"Meg's got plenty of things to do in her room."
DISCLAIMER: This is just armchair observation, not the result of many hours of deliberate study of the subject. I'm by no means an expert, but just an ignorant hick who's putting his two cents in. For that and a nickel, you can have a cup of coffee.

Does anyone know what the name of the episode is?
2005-05-08, 7:06 PM #8
I liked the first episode better, but it was still good.

The egging their own house was the best gag IMO.

American Dad though was better than the first one...

They were both okay. Not great, but somewhat funny.

American dad was definetly funnier this time.

And I laughed at some of the jokes, but the humor just isn't the 1st season.

They had to tone down some of the stuff from the first season. Notice how Stewie isn't trying to kill Lois in every episode?
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

It had a few excellent, more subtle jokes. My favorite was the Van Gogh one. He hands his girlfriend his ear in a box, and she says like, "But...why your ear?" "Because I love you." "Oh, well I guess it'll be a funny story to tell the kids one day." "...k-kids? You wanna have kids? Oh I wish you told me that before I gave you this:" and then he hands her this long, narrow box. Think about that for a bit. Hahahaha...

I liked it more than last weeks, I laughed aloud at most of the jokes. Stewie with the body was brilliant...

Oh, and I think one of my favorite bits from last week's was Brian and Stewie when they went to talk to the Tuckers. Brian says like, "This whole thing has turned Chris' life face-upside down!" and then Stewie's eyes grow big and he slowly looks up towards Brian. Hahaha...and then the bit where he wipes his *** on the carpet. I was almost crying for that. Same with the bird bit this week. I love Brian's character, I love how he's so sophisticated while still retaining many dog qualities. Dog owners will crack up at ever dog bit in every episode. Others probably won't get it.

That joke gets old too, when overused. It's good occasionally, but they're better off developing Stewie's character a little differently.

I laughed so hard at the van gogh joke.

Another good one I'm surprised no one has mentioned is

"Hey, do you have a picture of yourself that I could tape to the back of Lois' head?"

Ahaha I giggled like a schoolgirl at that all the way through the commercials

Yes, I thought tonight's was one of the best FG episodes I've seen. And I've seen them all. The only thing I didn't like about it was it's inconsistancy about the plot. Usually out of the two plots, one will definately be the focus, and the other will just flesh out the episode. But in Fast Times, the two plot-lines weren't mixed together very well.

As a side note, I thought American Dad was abysmally poor. I wished I had just watched O'Grady instead.

neither simpsons was very good either, if you happened to see both of them.

also, I'm kind of pissed that I haven't seen any of the other non-Griffin family guy characters yet. Quagmire made a brief cameo last night, but nothing worth writing home about.

I like Family Guy a lot, but I think American Dad is a little too underrated. A lot of that stuff was good. "Do the drapes match the carpet?" "...Smelly and ungrateful, but this American Toast is great!" It's not family guy, but it isn't the crap people are making it out to be.

"Now I remember... I used to want to be a civil engineer!" That cracked all the engineers over here up.

The problem with American Dad is it comes after Family Guy. They both shouldn't be the same night in my opinion. They are to similar to watch back to back and find the second as funny.

If they switched nights with it, I think some people would like it more
