Serious Question
2005-05-09, 2:52 PM #1
OK. My friend asked me a question on Friday, and I honestly couldn't answer it since I'm single... so here goes:

Is it wrong if a Senior loves (wants to go out) with a Freshman?

Serious answers please, and I will tell him that it's from Massassi-corruptionness if it's nastahr in here. :p :o

Tell your "friend" he should do whatever he wants, and not bother with what other people think.

It really depends on the situation. Generally, it'd probably be a bad idea, but not always.

Highschool. And long term relationships... me thinks. The last woman he went out with lasted for over 4 years. :-/

sure got for it. I know plenty of senoirs who are going out with freshman.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

No way, they're too young. When you're 18 going out with someone who's 14-15 it's just wrong. When in HS you should stay within 1 or possibly 2 years of your age.

I don't know what the Kak a Freshman is, a senior i can guess though.
nope.

Freshman = 9th grade
Junior = 11th
Senior = 12th
I forgot what 10th is.

In american high schools, each of the 4 different grade years has its own name. Freshman is the youngest, followed by (in order) Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. So basically, Freshman and Seniors are about 3 years apart... Freshmen are typically about 14 years old, and Seniors about 17 years old.

I agree with Brian. They should have 1 or 2 years difference in age. 4 is too much.

It's odd that, a marriage with a 10 year age gap isn't anything unusual at all..

Because you grow up a lot in those few years.

it just depends on the maturity level of both, age does play a factor somewhat, if the senior was 17 and the freshman was 15 there really is no difference, if they are happy and their parents are ok with it, then fine, however, there is alot of growing up that occurs between your first year of high school and your last, i voted yes with a certain degree of hesitation

Percentage wise it's usually a smaller difference.

Age is generally not a very good determining factor for maturity, which is the main issue here. There are 16 year olds with the maturity of a young child, and 14 year olds who have the maturity of 17 year olds. So I would say it all depends.

None of you have asked the all-important question:
Is she hot?

Seriously though...generally senior-freshman relationships are a bad idea...but if he's a young senior and she's an old freshman, mentally OR physically, it might be okay. It's really his call.

YES, she's HOT. I wouldn't mind going out with her myself. :P :D

It's okay if they actually like her, but if it's like this thing at my school where a senior pimps several freshmen at once, then... no.
DO NOT WANT.

I know someone who did that, and they seemed extremely close. But they just broke up...and it's six years later...so it's def. possible, and I'm not sure what happened but six years with a 4 year difference. It's possible people. VERY possible. In fact, most of us really thought they'd get married.
I had a blog. It sucked.

14-18 is a bigger difference than 32-36.

I don't think he should. I was drastically different between my freshman and senior years. I'm sure this holds water for many a high school folk.

Well, my friend is dating an 8th grader and he's 18... but he is really immature.... *rubs chin*..overall, prolly not the best choice,to much of an age difference.

Ugh... stop enforcing the age binary.

I've seen a lot of Freshman-Senior couple, and it never works out, it's just somebody to hold onto for a while. 4 years is too much in high school.
