Just got the demo. I must say, this is a kick-*** game. I'm probably going to buy it when it comes out, if it isn't already.

I've only played the demo briefly but I think you have to get a certain number of those minor advances before you have the option to advance to a new epoch.

I could be completely wrong though.

Finished the whole tech tree, and I was still at 7 while my enemy was at 9. Blah.

Maybe it has to do with the two wonders.

Too much Civ for my liking.
"Whats that for?" "Thats the machine that goes 'ping'" PING!
Q. How many testers does it take to change a light bulb?
A. We just noticed the room was dark; we don't actually fix the problems.
MCMF forever.

Empire Earth 2 boasted about "unrivaled realism" so I downloaded the demo. I started duking it out as the Americans against the British in what I believe was an 18th century scenario. Soon I have a few soldiers armed with muskets and then the "unrivaled realism" kicks in; they grab a stand out of no where, stick their musket on it, fire and reload in a whole (roughly) 5 seconds. If that wasn't bad enough, my Minutemen were shouting "For King and Country!".

With that said, it seemed like a fairly enjoyable game but I'll stick with Rise of Nations if I want a bunch of epochs.

Research six techs from the tech tree in each epoch. Then wait for your tech points to rise to the required level to commence advancement to the next epoch (when you see the roman numeral at the top glow hit ALT+ARROW UP). Universities and Temples give you tech points (garrison citizens in universities and priests in temples), and if you control several territories you'll get more tech points faster.

Aight thanks.

By the way, the musketeers are carrying the stands :x

It's actually really, really good. Was playing with my friend, and we had HUGE armies. Explosions everywhere, with cannons fireing and stuff. Definatly a game I'm going to buy when I get the money.

Are they? Well, that doesn't make it much less ridiculous.

Online could be fun, I might have to try it out. I haven't enjoyed an online strategy game since StarCraft though..

This is like starcraft in a few ways, except the population cap is well over 200. Mainly just the style. It's more like Age of Empires with the many different kinds of resources, but the tactics of building more than one military base thingie in a concentrated space is still there, so you can build more than one unit at a time.

With the huge population cap (Depending on how many territories you have) it's never a bad idea to amass huge amounts of workers (I always do this for Korea. :) ) The only problem is if an enemy is Korean and poisons a building your army of citizens are repairing. Yeah. *thud thud thud etc*

Anywho, does anybody know how to get rid of roads? Whenever I take over an enemy place, (Espescially for computers) there are roads everywhere and I can't build on them.

I didn't like the demo.

The gameplay isn't fluid, the graphics obstruct the abilit to control stuff and don't look that great. It's just an arcade game and lacks depth.

Water graphics look good. Explosions look good, and debris flying everywhere looks good.

It's fine for me, I'm not nitpicky about graphics. The gameplay is fine, really.
