All I know is that they'd better fix the bug that erases your bookmarks at random times.

Do you mean the one where it asks you to make a profile or something? If you just close out of that and restart your computer it wont reset your bookmarks. It's kind of a hassle but it is better than losing all of your bookmarks.

I wish that Firefox would recognize the shortcuts to Folders on my desktop were shortcuts to folders and not simply files to be overwritten.

They recently located a security problem. No doubt this just fixes that one.

Or just Ctrl+Alt+Del and shut down the Firefox process.

A. We just noticed the room was dark; we don't actually fix the problems.

That's a WinXP problem I believe. It never happens on any of my Win2k systems, and it happens to me on my WinXP laptop, and not just in Firefox.

yeah. If it says your profile is already in use, end the old process and it'll let you use it.

It's odd, because prior to Firefox PR 1.0, the problem never happened. And now it does. And it doesn't happen in IE nor any other browser. :(

1.0.4 must not be very important, because I always uprgade when the red 'critical update' icon shows up, and it isn't there.
2005-05-14, 6:10 PM #18
I dont know why the auto update icon only comes up a few days after the release for me :( It happened with 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 now 1.0.4. I think i'll just upgrade manually.

It only checks once a week. Go to options and click "Update Now" under advanced and the icon will appear. :p

I actually did get the red update button, right on time.

What's New 1.0.4

Firefox 1.0.4 is a security update that is part of our ongoing program to provide a safe Internet experience for our customers. We recommend that all users upgrade to this latest version.

Here's what's new in Firefox 1.0.4:

* Several security fixes.
* Fix to DHTML errors encountered at some web sites. For web developers, learn more.

If you had kept checked the option to allow websites to install programs, then you had a security problem with the old version. Personally, I have never had that one checked, so for me this update was more trivial, but on the other hand, like kyle90 said, it changes so little there's no reason not to update.
