A lot of image hosts use numbers. Its a lot easier on the database that keeps track of the images that way. Also, if the images are all stored in the same location (which is how the EC works) then you dont get collisions with two different people uploading images with the same name.

I've found nothing wrong with the IC, although I'll admit I've used it less recently with the advent of my own personal webspace - get one of those on a mate's server if you're so bothered, but to be honest, I never found it a problem.

I can see where you're coming from - numbers make it hard to differentiate between one image and the next if you've got several stored up, but then to be fair, it is a free service.

IC is great, I just need an image hoster that doesn't use numbers because I want to link a picture on a certain site but it seems to really hate numbers.
