Unfair clone treatment!
2005-05-19, 11:16 PM #1
Does anybody else notice that clones are always treated like nothing in both AotC, RotS, and the Clone Wars cartoon?
I mean are not clones people too? They've just been given the same DNA and advanced aging and teaching.

The only time I can remember someone treating the clones like real people is when General Kenobi talks to that one higher ranking trooper guy in the buffer yellow armor, and his squad

Wouldn't you at least think the Jedi to give all life meaning even if they are clones? But this doesn't seem to be the case.

I don't really care seeing as it's a movie/cartoon.

QFT

...now if it was real, I would have a major problem with it. It's actually the main reason I'm against cloning...possibly the only reason I'm against it.

I always thought back to Dark Force Rising and the Last Command (as well as later ones by Zahn) with the clones. If the Jedi can detect living things with the Force, how does it feel to detect the same living thing several hundred times?
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

I always thought it was rather ironic that Jedi used Clones like they were useless. It's kind of against what they were fighting for... You would've figured that the sith would use the clones and the Jedi would use droids...or have alot more Jedi.

Unless they figured they were helping the Clones by using them what they were designed for instead of just casting them aside or something. *shrugs*

they're bred not to be. they've had all of their individuality removed from them. some occasionally develope basic personalities (mostly just the ARCs, RCs, and commanders though), but for the most part they aren't people. If one dies, he gets replaced with another one that's exactly like him. they have no individuality. some jedi accept this and treat them essentially like droids (as you mentioned), but others have a harder time coming to terms with it. A lot of characters struggle with the issue, though it's for the most part only represented in the comics and novels.

by the time of RotS, though, the clone wars have been going on long enough that i imagine everyone is fairly jaded about the clone issue. they've been fighting alongside clones for years now, so everyone's either come to terms with the issue, or pushed their concerns aside

Read the Labyrinth of Evil book. It delves into that issue a bit. Also explains more about Dooku and Sifo Dias.
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

The Republic Commando novel also talks about this one issue, as well as some other Clone Wars EU thingies.
The answer is maybe.

Well, they were soldiers. It's part of a soldier's duty to be ready to die for the current cause. And it's not like the Jedi themselves didn't fall like weed...
