Old school? I thought that this was going to be a bout black and white movies. Aww..

B/W:
silent Harold Lloyd movies (especially "Safety Last"), D.O.A., The Thing from Another World, Little Shop of Horrors (the original one with a very young Jack Nicholson), and Touch of Evil.

Ferris is a great 80's movie.

That old black and white Little Shop was totally different than the musical remake. Both are good but the difference is crazy.

And I don't know about the 80s, there were a lot of good cheesy movies. Has someone mentioned Goonies yet? Or Breakfast Club? Lost Boys? Or what's that other one where the guy turns into a vampire but he still goes to high school and drives a convertible? The same actor played a zombie who went to the prom I think, another classic 80s movie.

I never liked Real Genius much. The popcorn scene was alright but overall the movie was kind of boring.

Blade Runner, Willow, A Clockwork Orange, Eraserhead [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif], so many other great GREAT movies.

Best movie to emerge from the darkness that is the 70's.
