Anyone know the value of a 1917 Remington Kar 98k?

Yea, well to be brief we just found this rifle in my friends basement. I wasn't even aware Remington manufactured the 98, but I was definitely fooled at first it was an authentic German made until I saw the model number on the top. It's not in very good condition, but it's fully functional. Also have an original stripper clip for it.

EDIT: HUGE mistake on my part. It's a Mosin Nagant (Russian rifle), not a Kar 98k. I have no idea how I was able to make that mistake. I just wasn't thinking straight.

A lot of money, is my professional estimate.

Here's a photo of a Kar 98k (the first rifle ontop). And a better one here.

Mauser manufactured the WW1 German infantry's Kar 98, which are extremely rare these days and are worth ****eloads. The Kar 98k was not used by the German military until 1935.

So I dunno what the hell you have...

Get a pic for us. I remember when we moved into our current house, there was a random rusty sword in a shed at the back of our garden.

Don't listen to that man, bringing a gun to a public place would mean you're a terrorist.

~bursts out laughing~

A Russkij rifle is a pretty nice find though, I think it would be worth something..

About $500 if it's in good shape.

I'd have it restored, then I would place it on my wall.

Except if you've seen those antique shows the price goes down A LOT if you have it restored.
