Today, I recorded a concert that was on TV onto a DVD and I want to rip said concert onto my computer. Is there a good program available to do so that won't cost me a cent (because I'm cheap like that :p)?

...meh.

I didn't see any cracking going on. Just picked up something from Google... not so wise, eh.

What? Recording things off TV is not illegal Rob. Nor is making a copy of the copy on your PC.

Silly person.

No, but linking to a website that details the process of cracking encryption found on retail DVDs, is.

For you, since you made the DVD yourself, there should be no copyright protection to crack. Just drag and drop the files from the DVD to your PC. Then burn said files again.

Agreed. I can't say I clicked the link that was up before, I didn't know it was a cracking site. But yeay, a burned DVD should be just like a burned CD - drag and drop.

Heh, I didn't realise it was just a matter of drag and drop. Too easy, thanks for your help.

OOOH! I am just the person who thinks in this illegal way. There are lots of DVD rippers out there, many for free. And no, it is not illegal to have a copy of this software. If it is made so that you can have backups or different videos on your computer of DVDs you already have, it is perfectly legal. Anyway, you can use CloneDVD, by slysoft. http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonedvd.html is the web page, so go ahead. You can download a 30 day trial version. No restrictions. The full program for 30 days. You can be illegal, however, and actually download a patcher that "registers" your copy for free... he he. Not that I would know. I hope this helps! If you need another program, just ask. There are plenty of them.

Edit: Just joking. I didn't see his post above...
