1. Go to Hamachi.cc and download the client. (EDIT: Yeah, i had it listed as hamachi.com but it's actually hamachi.cc)

2. Create/join a network.

3. If you are hosting, use tcp/ip protocol and host the game.

4. If you are joining, use tcp/ip protocol and type in the Hamachi ip of whoever is hosting.

5. DONE! Works no matter what kind of LAN set-up you have in your home. I'm currently hosting through college lan right now.

Currently hosting a game by the way. Network name is ragna, password is ragna. My personal hamachi ip is 5.1.93.63 (irrelevant really, since it tell you anyway once you join the network)

We're just dicking around on NF oasis. Join and we can set up more games (like... NF sabers :-DDDDD)

Actually I've already been using Hamachi. Played some RoX MP with Grismath a few days ago.

Also IPX might be more convenient for games if all players have IPX drivers installed (Windows XP doesn't install them by default like it does with TCP). With IPX you don't need an IP as long as a game is on a local LAN (read: Hamachi LAN).

I've only tried with TCP so far tho, but it worked like a charm.

I actually didn't think it would work, using the Hamachi IP. Gasp, it actually did.

Only problem is that currently it only allows 12 people in a network, but they are patching it to 16. But that would be it for free users.

Okay Pommy, hopefully you can keep your comp on 24/7 so that massassi can become the next zone ;-)

That said, let's make some guidelines. Since there's no chat window feature for a network, we'll just have to change our nicks so that people know when games are in session. I propose the following nick-naming scheme:


The template is: yournick (#) where # will be some words depending on your status.

1. If you are away from the computer or not actively searching for a game, your nick should be:

yournick (away)

2. If you are looking for a game, your nick should be:

yournick (looking)

3. If you are currently hosting a game in session, your nick should be:

yournick (hosting: gametype) where gametype can be replaced with NF BGJ or FF Oasis, etc.

4. If you are currently playing, your nick should be:

yournick (playing: hostnick) where hostnick is the nickname of the game host.


The networks that are currently up are:

name: ragna
pw: ragna

name: Massassi
pw: massalicious

note: names and pw's are case sensitive.

I think that covers everything. I've played a lot of games through Hamachi so far and it's freakin' awesome.

A friend of mine is trying to install this, but it keeps hanging up at the 'installing driver' stage. We've had the most rotten luck with JK:mad: . We couldn't find eachother's games before this, and still can't. Sometimes I really hate technology

who says JK's dead? I'll download thsi program sometime and see how it works with dial up.

Make sure nothing else is running in the background, or at least hide the rest of the windows. Move the Hamachi window... Yeah there might be a window behind it asking if you want to do network driver something someting.

It doesn't support my OS, but I'd love to play some games. What's the plan for telling people like me that a game is up? Post in this thread? Change your nick on IRC? Maybe start using #massgames again?

if you can't connect, try my game... due to my own inability to join, I created my own Morpheus F4 game. This should take the load off of Caveman.

Man I sure hope this isn't one of those programs that works once on my computer and then never again. I had a game in BGJ working a few days ago but when I tried to join or host the Morpheus game I had alot of trouble.

Anyone wanna get a JK Arena game going? I figure if I am making a JK Arena level I should have played JK Arena at least once.
