I've got some sort of a job...

The fire chief at my local fire station has a bunch of old photographs that he wants to have blown up to 8x10 and hung in the fire station. He also has a whole bunch of firemen that want 5x7 copies of most of the pictures he gave me. All in all, it's something like less than 50 8x10s and I want to say maybe a bit less than 100 5x7s.

I've got an hp psc 2210 All-In-One and I think I'll just buy the paper, scan the pictures, clean them up, and then print the pictures for him on photopaper.

My questions are, will these be cheaper then having it done at a little do-it-yourself Kodak Station? The prices seem high to me.

Does anyone have an idea of how much it would cost for paper/ink? I really have no idea how much ink this project is going to cost me.

Heh... I also have no idea what to charge the fire chief for doing this for him. Sirens went off and he jumped into a firetruck and ran away just before I could talk to him about getting paid.

Talk to him about your payment before startng the job. Either pick a nice hourly wage or a lump sum. Also, make sure you charge for expenses, like the photopaper and ink. That's not something you should hve to pay for doing the job.

yes. (also, find out if there are any other people bidding for the job)

I would ask for at least half up front as a sign of good faith.
