Massassians off to college!
2005-06-03, 10:32 AM #1
Well, in a few months, I will join the RIT-assassians up in Rochester, in pursuit of Software Engineering / Computer Science (yeah, I know they are different but I am leaning towards SE).

Where are my fellow massassian graduates heading off to?

Rochester Institute of Technology, the official university for the Massassi Temple!

Seriously. Y'all should reserve a couple of floors and call it the Massassi Floor(s).

Just finished my first year of Ancient Greek and Roman Studies at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. It was fun, but I saw no less than THREE people in the program who dressed like Indiana Jones every day. It was a tad bizarre

I'm off to Mary Baldwin doing a double major in marketing communication and vocal performance

...but I want to take some history classes as well, and psychology, but my double major will be killing me already, I probably wouldn't have time to do those...maybe gen ed credits though...

Finished basic studies for my department in the first year at the University of Helsinki. Starting intermediate studies in the autumn as well as planning out minor studies and the compulsory native and foreign languages.

Also wondering when I'm going to do my compulsory armed service (would've gone in January, but there is a curriculum reform in progress that would've made some courses incredibly hard to complete once I would've been done) and if I'm going to go abroad. All of this is complicated a bit more by meeting a very nice girl (yay!), and developing a great relationship which I wouldn't mind keeping up.

To sum it all up: I still have no real idea of what the future holds for me, but I'm doing fine right now. I'm healthier and fitter than I've ever been before. I'm not feeling overwhelmed, and I'm having a lot of fun.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

More RIT-ians :)
Don't test out of calc (unless you're obscenely good at it), you'll just be shooting yourself in the foot. (I've got to retake all the D's I got last year... :( )

RIT and CMU are great schools, although the latter is pricy. I got into CMU as well and I know two friends (one for CS, other for Business) from my graduating class who are going there. As for MIT, I applied there but got the boot (hopefully, someone caught The Living Daylights reference).

Really? Calc was my stronger suite. I took AP Calc AB and BC. I got a 5 on the first one, didn't get the score of the second yet.

Okay, honestly, I will end up ignoring your advice and skipping as many classes as possible. Sorry.

Student at Mizzou, IT BS - basically a CS degree with less math and more programming. :D

I've got myself a duplex with 3 other guys off-campus, but the doofuses at the university decided not to process my cancellation of on-campus housing, so I've currently got a room assignment, and I swear to God, if this ****s up my parking assignment, I'll burn down the whole damn campus.

Oh yeah? I'm an upcoming high school senior, and I'm very interested in Northwestern. I just doubt that I'll get the financial aid I'd need to afford it, if I did decide on it. But I'll visit this summer.
