So I've known this girl for 3 years. We see each other 3 hours a day (electronics is 3 periods a day). For a while we've been talking and flurting back and forth, until recently I found out that she wanted to go out to prom with me. I've always liked her, and I thought she might have liked me but I never really knew. Now we both know. Anyway she is the nicest girl you'll ever meet. She's funny, good looking (IMO), straight forward etc...It was kind of obvious to everyone in my class that I like her, or she liked me because we always hang out and talk etc...so all is going well when I get an IM from her explaining that my best friend made her uncomfortable. He kept saying things like 'Oh your so hot, blah blah we should bang multiple times etc...". She was telling me all this and I couldn't comprehend that my best friend would do this! I was so close to flipping out that very second. I want to 'bang' his nuts 'multiple times' with my shoe and see how he likes it. It pisses me off that he'd say that to her. I mean I would be angry if he said it to anyone...but her?

Anyway....What should I do? I need your help. I'm so pissed right now I can't think of any solutions that don't involve violence.

Yeah, I'd be pissed too. As for what you can do, the only feasible solution IMO is to talk to your best friend. Straighten him out, but don't be too harsh. Make clear what you thought about what he did.

Take your friend for a little trip down to the docks.... at night.... >_>

More backstory:

He's always tried to act cool. If you hanging out with him alone, or with some friends, he's cool. But if he's hanging out with other girls that he likes (anything that moves) he trys to act cool.

Ex #1. He really likes this girl called Hana. On his way to my house he stopped by there. He comes to my house 2 hours late. i ask him what happened, he sais "You know, we drank a bit, and we did..you know...a lot...like everything dude."

Truth: She fell asleep and he felt bad leaving. She doesn't even really like him, shes dating another guy.

Ex #2. He dated a girl called Carmen for about A WEEK. They broke up and he told everyone how he asked her out and how he ended up dumping her.

Truth: She asked him out and dumped him

Ex #3. He told my friend during this week relationship that he might need condoms pretty soon because things were getting serious.

Truth: Things weren't going anywhere, they ended up breaking up.

Ex #4. In Germany these girls asked if we were virgins. My friend said he wasn't.

Truth: I stood up after he said that and yelled "Shut the f*** up! Hana doesn't like you and Carmen broke up with you after a week!" Another kid says "Corey, you told me you had sex with a girl from New Hapmshire" I just turn and stare at corey who is obviously embarassed that he just got caught in not one, but TWO lies. He shut up the rest of the night...Damn straight.

So you see, this isnt the first time he's been a jerk. I talk to him about these situations, he says "Yeah i was being a dick" then he turns around and does it again. It's like he doesn't even know he's trying so hard to show off. I want to murder him in the face sometimes!!!

Unfortunately, I know people like this. I call them Chameleons. They will say and/or do whatever it takes to fit in with the people they are around at any given time, whether it means sacrificing their integrity, standards, or relationships with friends and families. This is NOT a healthy state of mind, and I would recommend that you be very careful around this friend. If you really like him, have known him for a long time, and feel that the two of you still hold a good friendship, maintain it. However, don't sink to his standards. And don't tolerate crap just because he's your friend. Sometimes people just need a kick up the *** to realize how poorly they're behaving.

If you sincerely and politefully tell him what he's doing wrong and what needs to be changed, perhaps he will alter his behavior. If he refuses to cooperater however, and fails to respect the thoughts and feelings of others, I can recommend nothing other than to tell him you don't want to be in his company anymore. Hopefully it will not come to that. If you are gentle, but firm in your statements, he should have the good sense to come to terms with his behavior and hopefully learn from the errors of his ways, if he values anything for which true friednship must stand.

Don't murder him in the face, just a good ol' fashion *** kicking should straighten him out. If not he's not worth being a friend.. or you could just sit down and have a down the earth talk with him.. I've been thinking about doing this with one of my friends that has the shortest fuse and blows up over stupid ****.

People are too soft. If you think you can take him, teach him a lesson and whoop him one.

I'd say have a serious talk with your friend. Violence doesn't solve anything. Tell him hes acting like a dick and you are very tried of it, and if he doesn't cut it out then he's going to find that you won't be around anymore. If he values you as a friend, it'll make him think hard. If not, then you need a new best friend.

And I know some people who act like that, "Chameleons". Its irritating, and I found my friends take my friendship for granted when they do it and treat me like crap.

It sounds like this kid is rather cocky, just put it to him bluntly, siting those specific examples that you gave, tell him genuinly nice girls don't like cocky guys.

I'm sure everyone who has been through High-School knows the type. Sounds like typical annoying male pubescent posturing. He's looking for attention, appraisal and approval among his peers. He doesn't understand that in order for people to like him, he has to be his own genuine self. It would seem like he's actually a bit insecure about himself and around girls.
