I found this extremely interesting. It's quite mindblowing actually, if you listen to the audio you can actually hear the parrot havin a conversation with its owner and it sounds freakishly like a real person at times. Apprently they have done quite controlled tests and it demonstrates a telepathic link with the owner. Read the site.

Oh and it has a vocabulary of around 700 words

I find that particularly interesting. One of the arguments against the idea that animals can use language is that they are merely imitating language because it gets them rewards.

Yeah this bird really isn't just mimicking. It actually has conversations and communicates, making up his own original phrases and words. Shown a photo of a man on the fone the bird said "Whatcha doin on the phone?" and one of a couple embracing it says "Can I give you a hug?" I really find this bird unbelievable.

I remain skeptical until a reliable, third-party source confirms what this site says.

I found this site which claims it's fake, but really gives no evidence whatsoever and is merely speculation and generally "This is just stupid, it's not possible etc."

An older African grey parrot named Alex has a vocabulary of only 100 words.

Alex also coined a new word, interestingly.

According to Irene Pepperberg, however, Alex isn't using human language.
