Its the only internet in the world that every 2-5 months duplicates your speed, at no additional cost. YAY!, I've got 1024 now! Soo, post about your own internet connections.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Mines been upgraded for free lots too... but i'm in the UK.

In 2001 I had 512k cable
Then in 2003 they upgraded it to 600k
in 2004 it was upgraded again to 750k.
Now a few months ago it was upgraded to 2mb.

Still the same price :D

Right now I'm running at about 250 kb/s. Not that great, but far better than the old 56k.

... I'm less then 10 mins away from one of the larges cities in Ontario, and I cannot get broadband out here... Going from having broadband for 4 years to 56k ****ing hurt, really ****ing hurts. I mean, no more MP games... Ever. :(

56k and I hardly care that often. Any heavy downloading I've needed to do I've done on campus and then brought home with me on CD or on my iPod later in the afternoon. And I've essentially given up on online PC gaming. It's just not worth it for me anymore. Not because of connection limitations, but because of the people.

With peak download speeds reaching 15 MEGABYTES PER SECOND, I think RIT has all of you beat.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm on 56k for the summer. But I have two ISPs to choose from, both free. Free dialup from CSU and from CWRU from my mom and sister's student accounts. Oh, and my brother will probably get us Adelphia cable for $30 a month since he's a university employee at CWRU.

I love how, even when I'm on 56k, I still beat everyone else running on 56k. Bahaha.

It's a funny thing, but my connection speed dropped from 10/10 to 2/2 (forced by the company, not by any choice of mine). Of course the price also dropped significantly, so I don't really care. To speak the truth, now in retrospect, I think it was a good thing due to the money saved - 2/2 is still fast enough for me.

With all the flaws and intermittent service that Adelphia has, they have pretty good bandwidth. Of course now I had to leave cable internet and move. I'm back to 56K. Insult to injury. It's AOL. Trust me it's not my doing. Mom doesn't seem to want to let go of AOL...despite my every plea. She says we won't be on it much longer though. Thank God.
