.. Small squads of Combine soldiers that will have around 150 hp each. Citizen hp has been increased to 85 or so to counter this.

I was looking for some senarios (ideas on scipted sequences too, eg. witnessing 3 soldiers rush though a door and take postitions before their AI took over) that would house some sweet *** squad combat action.

I noticed that by raising the hp of the soldiers, thus letting them live for more then 2 seconds, it seem the Combine AI is very good, and I've been flat out RAPED by them multiple times.

Ex: In a testmap, I just ambushed a 3 man squad, and downed 2 of them with many smg and ar2 rounds. The last soldier who I could only hit a few times, went for cover. Aparently. Just as I went to turn a corner that I was facing away from, he came strafing out of said corner firing and quickly hid again behind some boxes nearby. I figured he'd show himself after reloading. Instead he rushed around the other side of the boxes and killed me while I was expecting him on the opposite side. I thought "wow, that was nice."

Gimme ideas!

An armory with containers and crates and stuff littering it. I'm speaking of something like Raven's fight in MGS. I think a good handful of AI in a room like that would be badass fun. Especially if you made boxes that were small enough to duck behind but stand up and shoot from behind for some cover. That is, if the AI will duck and stand up and shoot?

Great suggestion. I'm postive I've seen them do that but I'm not sure. They can crouch, so I'm sure its possible.

Every time I play that boss fight I think: "This'd be the greatest DM level ever."

Same with Sniper Wolf's fight; it'd be a brilliant DOD map or even CSS. That game is FULL of things like that, though. MGS2 has some nice gameplay areas that beg for DMage.

Which reminds me: this map might look better on a tanker or something with water below and the possibility of falling into it. A skybox would look good here too. Think, instead of Raven's fight, Fatman's fight on the heleport.

Come on guys, stop being a bunch of sallys, and give some some more ideas!

I found this Armory layout via Google, I think its exactly what I had in mind. Just picture the open space filled with large creates and misc "armory" stuff. Then picture many combine soldiers walking around keeping gaurd.

In a single player lvl I would like to see some thing like you need to defend rather then attack,(just for some thing differnt)

like you git some time to build a 'bunker' out of radom stuff(maybe a few freindly AI's and or turrets to)with the grav gun, then after a while you git attacked by a swarm of guards...

or some thing like that..

Are you planning on making a level out of this? If so, I'm looking for a HL2 editing tutor, do you think you could help?

Also, maybe do a level set aboard a larget attack helicopter or ship, where your buddies and you have docked on their chopper, and are duking it out to take teh chopper down..., with the chopper over a cityscape or something.

I'd have no problem showing you the basics and some intermediate stuff, but I'm no pro at it yet. I can get you started though, its really quite easy. Similar to building lego.

Oh, yes I'm planning making a small level out of this yeah.

Grim: Good idea, I might make 2 versions, one where you attack this armory and another where you defend it. Or maybe you attack it, then have to defend off a counter-attack. *thinks*

Sol, do you have an MSN Messenger address or AIM?

How do you increase their HP? and do you know any maps that are designed for this purpose?

type sk_combine_s_health 150 in the console

you can change everything, from the hp to the damage of specific weapons of any npc.

You'll need to make a .cfg file with the commands in it and execute it everytime you load a new game, or get to a load point in the game.

Put the file here:

\Steam\SteamApps\youremailhere\half-life 2\hl2\cfg

type this in the console to to execute the .cfg file with a press of a button:

bind n "exec cfgname.cfg" (pressing n will run the .cfg file)

when you push n whatevers in the .cfg will be set.
