On June 9th around 1pm Pacific or so the data center in which the Massassi server is hosted had a power outage. SUPPOSEDLY they have backup power generators but APPARENTLY the switch that is supposed to cut from public power to generator power failed and it took them I GUESS something like 10 HOURS to fix the problem. I have the feeling they didn't actually fix the problem, but rather they just waited for public power to come back on.
When the power was finally back on, the server didn't boot properly due to a faulty config (sort of my fault). The problem, however, is that it's set up to disallow remote login until such time as the entire bootup process finishes, which it never did because it was stuck due to the faulty config. So anyway, it took them a couple of HOURS to log in from there and remove the fault config to let me log on.
The faulty config has been fixed, but I'm still trying to figure out why it won't let me log in to the SSH server until after the web server starts. That is just moronic.
