Yes, I've read that before, too. I'd take it with a grain of salt. I'm sure there are consequences for eating too much soy, but that's true with anything. The authors of those articles seem to be fervently anti-soy, for whatever reason. But it's possible to be vegan and not eat soy products. There's texturized vegetable protein (seitan), which when marinaded correctly, can taste like any kind of meat. There's also tempeh, and other non-tofu soy products, which are healthier than soy, according to the article. Why, last night, I had a tempeh reuben which was pretty good.
