Google over doing it?

I posted in another forum on how to raise money for a camera, and then all the sites I visit that have google sponsor add have something like this:

Nothing to see here, move along.

It's not like google sentiently (is that a word?) decides which ads to show.

Yeah, seriously, it just picks the most common keywords in a topic to find ads for. There isn't a 'living' version of Google that decides what ads to display... yet.

Um, how is it like spyware? Google ads are relevant to the page you're viewing (usually), don't pop up, don't ask you to punch the monkey, don't have annoying colors and don't have annoying sounds. They're far less obtrusive than all other ads.

That must be why we have Google ads here.

Complaining that Google Ads go to far is pretty silly, in my honest opinion. You're posting on a public internet forum that is easily accesed from thousands of terminals across the world. In fact, any information you've ever posted could be categorically shifted through to find out your identity, if someone really wanted to, as it is completely likely you've simply posted it somewhere.

Every word of every sentence you've ever typed is visible by hundreds of thousands of people.

Google just helps sell things based on relatively accurate searching within the subtopic/post/website you're already accessing. If anyting, you should be thanking Google for trying to help you get the products you need quickly and easily.

Oh, does anyone have any Star Wars Young Jedi Cards? Oh, wait, nevermind, Google Ads found them for me at the bottom of my Star Wars website. Geez...that's going far over the line.

After carefuly reading the arguments for and against, I have decided the answer to your question is simply this:
No.
Thats like asking if your video record has gone too far because when you set it to record your show last night it kept on recording and you found yourself with a copy of the porn movie that followed.

yes they do. they're automatically deleted from the trash (albiet after a long time, 30 days i think), and if you want, you can go into the trash folder, select all, and hit 'Delete Forever'. very simple
