4:30 ET Jackson verdict

This country blows. People suck. It's impossible to have a real trial anymore. Then again it never really was possible. There is always money somewhere, and people that have connections somewhere else, etc. etc.... It's disgusting.

Michael Jackson can molest little boys, but Martha Stewart recieving information about stocks and then acting on it? No, for shame Martha, for shame!

The child molesation counts I can see, but the ones involving alcohol I am schocked. If I recall , there was very strong evidence of that. I'm shocked he got off on all counts, but I ain't gonna lose any sleep over it.

Ah ha!

Corruption, money, and power triumph again!

Evil will always win, because good is stupid.

Even if they had a video of MJ furiously humping an infant, he would be not guilty of all charges.

Thank you, weak human consititution!

A black celebrity gets off innocent....I'm not surprised with this damn country.

I wonder if the NAACP recommended those jurors.

If anything he should be arrested for being so goddamn creepy!

I actually didn't think he was guilty of the child molestation charges (1-6 or so). At least, not for this specific child.

However, it was almost blatantly obvious that his whole Jesus Juice thing made the alcoholic beverage charges (7-10) guilty.

1. What will that exactly solve?

2. You are a sad little man if you let a trial get to you like this.

What the hell? seriously, how stupid are you? Because the court said he was innocent (which very well may be true) and you disagree you say this country sucks?

This is funnier than it should be.

I for one am happy that he's innocent. Now people will shut up about it. Maybe.

Wonderful idea. You think there's a problem, so rather than try and fix things, you run away from the situation?

I can understand where SAJN is coming from. If I feared that I was living in a country with a corrupt legal system, I'd probably want to move to another country as well, cause afterall, you may go to jail for something you didn't do and get the death penalty.

This is like OJ redux. A person is so obviously guilty and they get off innocent. I'm sick of everything in America being corrupt. There isn't an honest decision made in the world today. Everything is about money and power, who the hell cares about the world or justice anymore?

Prove to me that hes "obviously" guilty. The man has had a terrible life and obviously is going to have some issues with dealing with the world.

The court said he was innocent, therefore they must have some good reason to think so.

Also, you made an honest decision with saying you were going to move to Canada. I reaffirmed that by telling you to get out. No money or power involved.

Except for the alcoholic charges (which he should've been guilty), there wasn't really too much evidence of the molestations other than trusting the word of a teenager. Unlike OJ, where there was physical and clear proof (the bloody glove) that he did it. But yeah, the jury was a bit unfair there.

When it comes down to it, nobody really ever cared about justice except the people that didn't have money and power.

Corrupt legal system? It's not like this is a blasphemously poor trial. It's not like Bush is using the legal system to "legally" kill off groups of people he doesn't like like some other guy from the 20th century *cough*, or that we're passing laws so that congress and the senate vote itself out of power such as the case of a couple other 20th century countries *cough*.

Believe it or not, we're still actually doing quite well.

You're right, it is like OJ, in that a bunch of people who have strong opinions about the acused person beforehand become very vocal after the verdict is in, regardless of whether they know wtf happened in the actual trial.

If you were involved in the trial to the extent that the jury was, then you could question their decision. Saying he's guilty because he looks weird or because he's a total psycho isn't justified.

MBeggar, you know damn well that is a BS thing to say. Just because the court says it does not mean the reasons were good.

Wasn't there some book brought up in the trial? Didn't they say MJ had a book with photographs of nude younger boys, but that it wasn't considered pornographic so it can't be considered illegal?

I don't care if it's illegal or not. If a man is being accused of molesting a young boy, and a book filled with naked young boys is found in their house? DING DING DING SHERLOCK!

I posted about the book a couple of days ago. It was completely graphic, showing genitals and all, but considered art. WTF?
2005-06-13, 2:42 PM #73
I just don't understand how he could've been found not guilty of all charges. I mean, you'd think with so many people revealing that they'd been violated by him there would be some reason for it (other than money, cause it would take a lot more than that for people to want to say that they'd been sexually abused by a grown man). I believe that the people who came forward and told the public of what had happened to them were looking for justice. They believed that they could pay Jackson back for what he had done to them. And now, I believe those people are VERY frustrated with the court's decision.

So, like, if I happen to own a movie which contains a person killing another person, I most certainly would be guilty if ever convicted of murdering someone because enjoying the image of killing someone implies that would enjoy killing itself.

That example doesn't work here.

Thats not a very compelling argument pommy. Would you own a book of graphically nude pre-pubescent boys?

That's a horrible example. How many movies or books have people getting killed in them? A lot. How many movies or books are filled with child pornography?

Don't you find it odd that a 40 something year old man convicted of child molesting little boys has a book of naked little boys in his house?! I mean, even if he wasn't accused of molesting children, noone should have books of naked little boys!
