my cat finaly prooved that it can do its job.

we finaly fond a mouse that had come out (hadn't actualy seen any since we got our cat) so we trapped it in the small room at our fromt door. we then put the cat in there. suprisingly, she was totaly manic and obsesive about getting it. she was still there even though it was clear the mouse had escaped.

the reason why it is good is that all she has been good for so far is getting biten and costing us money for vet bills. she finaly prooved that she will go after mice.

to make this legal, how does your pet react to mice.

My invisible cat kills all of the invisible mice in my house.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Before my cat was castrated: Tortured the things.

Now: Does nothing then rests afterward.

One of my cats was really good at catching mouse. But she wouldn't just catch'em, she would torture them. Carry'em around by their tail or neck, let'em go and then slam her paw back on'em. It was pretty brutal.

I had a dog that ate a mouse once.

My cat paws it and then leaves and sleeps.

Did no one else notice that Avenger said that one of his bats hunts bugs?

Is it not illegal to have bats as pets?

Why would it be? There are some species that don't transform into Dracula.

We dont have mice here, but my old dog used to run into things while chasing birds.

My dog killed a mouse one time....but didn't eat it. I was surprised. She's crazy.

Well, it's a good thing - when cats leave you a kill (or part of a kill, in this case), it means that they love and respect you. The kill is meant to be shared with you, the owner. :)

I haven't seen the kitten in action yet.

One of my cats used to pound moles outside.

Another will try to kill mice, but the 'blows of fury' from her paws are really quite pathetic.

My 21 year old blind cat chases them like no tommorrow.

Part of that is sarcastic.

Up to you to figure out which one.

...

it's the second sentence.

...

ok my cat is yes, 21 years old and blind. When it was going blind it actually caught a bird based on hearing alone! But unfortunately, it only catches it's dish of catfood in the kitchen these days.

My toy poodle runs from them if he sees them. Ok he hasn't seen one, but I know he would.

My American Eskimo would probably eat it.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

My cat catches a lot of lizards and likes to bring them inside. But he doesnt really know what to do with them, he usually just watches them until he loses interest or they crawl under something he cant get under.

Most cats do that, especially females. It's a maternal instinct. They bring wounded prey back to the babies so they can learn to hunt.

My cat Lily is a complete sadist. She doesn't prefer to give her mice a quick death - she likes to torture for a good 15 minutes before killing the poor thing. Because of that, Lily is too realiable to keep the mice/rat population down since she takes too damn long to kill them. That's a shame because we have a severe rat problem in the backyard. There is like a good 20-30 of them sponging off our rabbit's supply of food. My father was able to secure the cages to prevent the buggers from stealing anymore food but the population is still a problem. I wish my other cat Cally could hunt them but she can't because we don't trust that cat to go outside and not jump the fence and take off.

Last I remember my cats would paw at random bugs like they were foreign moving objects of wonder. They're not so hot at hunting though. ;)

Both of my cats go crazy over bugs, but I'm afraid there haven't been any mice around my house for quite some time.

My dog also will dig up and kill moles. My dad used to go paranoid over moles, but our dog has mostly taken care of the problem.

My old cat used to catch stuff all the time out in the garden, squirrels, voles, birds.. And it always used to bring it through the cat flap, leave it on the mat and miaow in a certain way until we came and looked. Once we'd seen it, she'd take it back out into the garden and eat it :)

I loved my cat.. but she was put down about a year ago now :( Had bad kidneys

My old cat was declawed but he would hunt squirrels and kill them, then just leave them dead on the sidewalk or wherever the fight took place. He was a big cat so he would pin them down and then lay on top of them while beating their head against a rock/sidewalk/street until their brain hemorraged or skull cracked or whatever and they died.

He would also climb trees sometimes by getting a running start and running up the trunk. If there were fairly low branches, he was successful but simetimes he just got 10 feet up then flew off backwards.

I miss him, he was pretty cool. He had a loud, short meow noise he would make over and over while sitting right next to you if he wanted attention. It sounded like, "MAO. MAO. MAO. MAO. (petting commences) purrrrrrr."

My old cat used to fight with everything. Mice, rats, rabbits, birds, local dogs....

Lived for about 4 years then got killed by a pack of wild dogs.

What, none of those posts... amazing.

However, I've never had problems with mice nor other rodents, so no killings here.

Not really. That wouldn't have done anything harmfull to the mouse.
It should've been something like
$ cat /dev/null > mouse
if you really want to use cat, but it wouldn't look so cool, because the cat doesn't touch the mouse directly.
And in this example there still would be the carcass of the mouse. But you get that with a real life cat, too...

BTW: Why is cat called cat anyway?

my cat also likes to hunt bugs. Also, she was still looking for the mouse when I came back from school in the afternoon. this is good because as I said, the reason we got her was to get rid of the micve in our house.

My dog doesn't just go after adult mice but he goes after the nests as well (which contain the younglings). As soon as he catches a mouse, I've watched him flip them in the air. Not sure what he does after they're dead (most likely eats them along with some other unknown things in our backyard).
No sig.

My cats shred lizards to tiny bits. They devour mice, squirrels, possums, and birds.

I once found a decapetated squirrel in my yard. Body perfectly intact, but no head, no blood, but a cross section of a squirrel. :( :(
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

  • Birds
  • Squirels

My cats are stupid. They all either stare at or run from mice. On the other hand, I had a flock of chickens who liked to shred snakes and toads, and leave the pieces scattered across the front yard. One of them even swallowed a mouse whole.

My cats seem to like the sutffed toy ones. One of them Oscar, uses it as a form of stress management. However my family recently aquired some kittens and they have been having a go at it. They honest see them as toys which need to be destroyed

Oh, I love bragging about my cat:

My cat did one of the most amazing stunts I've ever seen a cat do. For an entire week she WOULD NOT come inside for dinner. Ever. So we watched her to see what was so important outside. We found a row of dead mice categorized by size once after we followed her after catching one. She USUALLY eats them, but for some reason she was saving this bunch. So we didn't touch any of it and kept watching her that week. Then one day my dad yells for us to get the camera (The batteries were dead :-() because my cat had all of the mice just under the porch and had got one rather large one out. She layed it in the middle of the road then walked back to the tree and hid behind it. She looked strait up. A few minutes passed and my cat goes DASHING from behind a tree. I suddenly figured out why. A crow swooped down to grab the dead mouse. My cat dived through the air and nabbed it from the back. This crow is probably 2/3rd her size, with a razor sharp beak. My cat burries her teeth into it's neck and lays in the middle of the road chewing it. Suddenly it goes limp. She picks up the crow, brings it back to the porch, lays it underneith, lays in the shade for 10 minutes, and does it all over again. 6 Crows in 3 days. She then carried each one to the roof of the shed where she's made a small burrow-like cave out of some extra wood on top. She's lined it with feathers and such from her kills. We've watched her (With a fresh battery) and have tried to catch her doing it again, but I think since she got hit by the car and broke her tail, her balance is so off that she doesn't bother trying.

In any case, she's a freaking awesome cat. That's only ONE of the freaking cool tricks she's done on her own. A brilliant animal at 12 years old.
