Brain tumor update, part 3...

...today I have my final chemotherapy session, and a viewing of my MRI scans from last week. My doctor explained everything to me in 'official' medical terms, so I told him to speak english. To quote him, he says I've "graduated", which also means I'm pretty much gonna live a long time! :D The scan doesn't show any sign of this brain tumor, but that doesn't mean I'm out of the woods yet. I get 3 months off from any doctor, but I will have another MRI scan in late August, early September. If there is no change then, it's an official remission!!!!

One thing that really bothers me from what he tells me: I'm much too young (I'm 31) to even have this type of cancer....

Oh, well. The worst is over, and it's time to enjoy the SUMMER!!! :D :p

Congratulations!

My mom went through Chemo, that's rough stuff. I hope your summer is great and that your tumor problems are over!

Now, about that 20 bucks you owe me... ;) jk

Good job :D

That's awesome; great news.

(But am I the only one thinking that someone should fund a study into the correlation between being a Massassian and getting brain tumours?)

Yes. We honestly have a huge percentage of tumorees, considering the amount of people here. It's definitely higher than average.

Anyhow, glad to hear it, Snake! Have a great summer.

Nice, good to hear.. Question though. How exactly did you know you had a brain tumor int he first place? I'm curious as to the symptoms that prompted you to go to the doctor at first and discover the disease.

January 29th, when 28 Days Later was released, my wife rented it for the weekend. She says I watched the entire movie (which I don't remember AT ALL), including all the alternate endings, then went to bed. About an hour later, I had a grand mal seizure and practically spasmed right onto the floor. Ambulance ride #1 to the High River hospital. Doctor there said I might have epilepsy, and sends me home. Another hour later, another grand mal seizure, back to the hospital, same thing from the doctor, but I think then a nurse said it's not, and sent me on another ambulance ride (#3), all the way to Calgary.

There I went through a CAT scan, then an MRI scan, and I still don't remember anything.

c'ont from my last last post....

It was actually 3 weeks before I actually gained full conciousness and really remember whatever happened 5 minutes prior. In other words, I don't remember Valentine's Day, my birthday, my uncle visiting every day, any of that. But the best part was? There was no pain what-so-ever. Even after the surgery. None.

I did have some pictures uploaded on someone's site but I can't remember the URL....
