Thanks Dude :) The boat is pretty old, 1989 Mastercraft. I had the wake tower put on last summer, barely got to use it. It's really nice though. The house is getting better each day. There were a lot of problems to begin with but I've been working my *** off practically every day after work and things are much better now. We can still start a business :) Although the money I'm making comes from a regular job for the most part :(

woops. it's not a quad cab, i dunno why i said that. extended cab. but it does have a 460 v8. it's pretty badass, but the turning radius is terrible due to the lack of cv joint steering... and ridiculous length. not to mention it gets 8(!!) MPG.

here is a picture. it was blue, full of rust, missing on one cylinder, ratty interior etc, but we painted it two tone because we have an affinity for red/white (as well as fixed body with bondo, replaced seats with sable seats, replace box, replaced doors, + alot more). on the front you can see our stealthy integrated plow mount/frame.

as for the avalanche, we routinely use it to haul 4 snowmobiles on an enclosed trailer, so i dunno wtf you're talking about with towing capacity. also, thanks to the midgate, you really can haul big stuff... you just have to deal with an exposed cab in the mean time ;)

I would have to disagree with you there. The plastic clad ones might look cool but the models without trim offer far more options for those who want to customize them. If I ever bought an Avalanche it would be without the trim as I would want to add some heavy gauge bumpers and rocker guards.

Avalanches, besides being one of my most-hated vehicles, don't have the towing or hauling capacity I need to tow a boat. They have independent front suspension which I absolutely hate for trucks/SUVs (solid front axle is the only way to go). It's also a piece of chevy :)

Well, the routine half-ton variant might not make the best tow rig just like a half-ton pickup or Suburban. It can do it but not as well as a 3/4 ton or higher. But there is a 3/4 ton Avalanche available so towing capacity and handling should be much better with that model. Lack of a solid front axle is okay for a rig that sees street duty to light and rare off road duty. Better ride, too. I personally prefer solid axles though.

Brian, what do you dislike about the Avalanche? I would guess the gimmicky trim. That's why I prefer them without. I think they look much better that way. What are your thoughts on the diesel engines? Like 'em but cost too much or what?

This is true. But the "let's all drive Priuses" croud grows. Thus those who want/need large vehicles are villified by the aforementioned group.

What? I can't edit to add attachments?

Anyway, this is dad's truck from two years ago. It's been a little beat up since then. Esp. when some ****** ran into it with a scissor lift. And there's a helluva lot more crap in the bed.

They look like crap, IFS, plastic trim, and the idea that I'd want to convert my SUV into a truck? Meh.

oS: The length is good for stability at high speeds and while towing. My truck is really long and it's hard to maneuver while background around a 22 foot trailer.
