Jerec's eyes?
2005-06-15, 5:16 AM #1
I got into a disscussion about Jerec and his evilness :p with my friend. He said that Jerec was blind but I thought that Jerec just had "heavy brows" as they said in the book. So.. what is the deal with his eyes?

I always figured he was blind and used the Force to see.

Isn't this why you can't blind him in JK?

On a completely unrelated note, you also cannot Force Blowdry him.

According to various sources, he's blind and uses the Force to see.

When he was 5 his eyes were pecked out by a bird. That's why he turned to the dark side, you see.

Ah yes, an all too common tale.

A european swallow couldn't carry a coconut.

Yes but how would a african swallow get to englad?
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Afterall, African Swallows are non-migratory.

What if two swallows carry it on a string?

Yes, he is blind..let me check though.

Ah, found it, inside the booklet that came with the game (which suprisingly I still have and secretly love.)

Jerec
Jerec lives surrounded by a darkness that has nothing to do with his lack of phyiscal sight. Tattoos flow from his mouth and he hides his empty eye sockets with a thin blindfold-like mask. His embrace of the Force's dark side gives him powers that rival Vader's. His lust for further power--the power represneted by the Valley of the Jedi--knows no bounds.

bwa haha, I remember hearing that joke years ago :P

Judging from Rahn's lines, it sounds like Jerec has no eyes...
"His heavy brow overshadows the empty recesses that, normally, embrace eyes"

My reasoning follows:
"normally [these recesses] embrace eyes" but Jerec has "empty recesses"
"Empty recesses" == eye sockets

And doing a little research on dictionary.com:
brow - The superciliary ridge over the eyes
superciliary - Located over the eyebrow or the eye

Perhaps 'brow' is referring to the eye-band thingie he wears... covering (aka. located over) the eye sockets

Jerec was blind since birth.

Anyone here read the JK books?

Anyway, Jerec is most definitely blind, and uses the force to percept things around him.

This is a very interesting point. But again, it brings us back to the simple question of: What is the velocity of an unleaden swallow?

I would think that Daredevil is far cooler than Jerec.

Jerec stars in a "B movie-ish" game and Daredevil has decades worth of great comic stories (just to begin with). There's little comparison.

Jeric is also part of one of the best games ever made, and is in some books.

I think Jerec is cool enough but comparing him to a comic icon seems off. I skimmed through his profile in my Guide to SW Characters and he seems to have a cool enough history. Returning to the Jedi temple to find all the Jedi dead. Seems to me I saw something about that in a movie recently.

Jerec was cool because he made a lot of money and bought his own star destroyer.

lol for the first part, Yes, he was a Dark Jedi.

For the second, that's what I wanted to know. If you look in the credits, you can find thier name and dial every number in the phone book that has that name.

Personally, I think they don't want to be bothered. Otherwise they would have acted in MotS, JO, and JA as well. :)
2005-06-15, 8:56 PM #38
I think LEC was just being cheap in MotS ;) -- They got half price for voice performance :p

Still, It'd be pretty cool to bump into one of the actors sometime.... "Hey, aren't you Jerec?" "Whoa! It's Kyle Katarn!"

Hopefully they've stopped acting..

I think Jerec's actor was in some Stargate episode or something.
