Should I get a Radeon build by ATI or Sappire? Or does it matter since I hear that Sapphire builds ATI's cards anyway?

ATI's cards are usually more expensive, and Sapphire makes pretty good cards. They'll usually throw some more unique cooling on there as well.

Here's a Radeon 9800 pro retail built by ATI for $275 with free shipping:

Edit: $275, not $175

Not a bad deal, but look at the All in Wonder models for the best of the Radeon cards. More expensive, but the best out there

I have a Sapphire. Big bubbles, no troubles.

I've also got an Intel D875PBZ Motherboard, and I want to warn you that I have problems with the 10/1000 port on it... it intermittently decides that it doens't want to initialize, so I have no network/internet. To get it to come back, I have to restart, disable the onboard in the BIOS, and boot back up... then do the same thing again after XP has loaded, except enabling it again.

Besides that, any time after I try and mess around with the BIOS and enter Windows, I get strange black distortions and lines across my screen... I also have a Radeon 9800. The only way to fix it is to do a cold boot. On occasion, my LAN port again decides to shut down.

Good luck.

Sapphire is the same thing as a BBA card. It just has different cooling and is often bundled with different/more things. And an All In Wonder doesnt perform any better than a regular Pro card. it just has a TV Tuner built into it.

The coolest cooling solution I've seen is on the Sapphire Ultimate cards, where there is no fan but instead a huge heatsink. As a result, there is practically no sound.

It's sad when I know your **** better than you do. That case comes with a 420 Watt power supply, not a 400 Watt. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/redface.gif]

Practically? There wouldn't be... Unless you could hear the electrons hitting against the silicon. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

I can. That's why I put that fan above it to drown out the noise of the coliding electrons. It was driving me nuts.

Oops, I was wrong... I don't have the Xaser III but instead the classic. But the power supply I got is 400w.
