So, January this year. My friends and I agree that roleplaying during the school year is too stressful. We agree to wait until summer.
Then comes May. My friend says, "Hey, Josh, we're going on a float trip, probably around the end of June. Want to come?"
"Sure," I say. "Sounds lurvely."
Three weeks ago, said friend calls. "Josh, we're doing the float trip on the 25th and 26th. Sound doable?"
"Righty-o," I say. "I shall request those days off from work!" I inform my January friends of this development.
Hurrah!
Today, one of my January friends says, "Keep the 25th and 26th open for roleplaying."
I remind him of the float trip. He goes ballistic. "You're killing our GM!" "You and your damn leisure trip!" "Why are you ditching us?"
I say, "I'm not going to ditch the float trip."
"I'm not asking that of you." Bull****.
I say, "Don't lecture me on this. I'll see if I can get in afternoon on Sunday."
"I'm not holding a gun to your head. You don't need to do that." Bull****.
It's a ****ing leisure activity. Forgive me if I'd rather spend two days with friends on the river than try to keep every ****ing weekend open for roleplaying that hasn't even ****ing started yet. God damn it, people piss me off. If they can't get the God-damned perspective that it's a ****ing passtime and not some ****ing way of life, then they can find themselves another ****ing player, because I'm not putting up this ****.
