I think they're trying to send us subliminal messages to buy Valve's game.

Damn I love Call of Duty. Too bad the expansion pack sucked. Speaking of which, in the CROSSROADS mission, do the guys ever stop coming? I spent seriously like an hour taking the same guys out over and over and they just kept regenerating

Meh, those bastards, look what I found on gamefaqs:

Dont bother killing any of the troops coming from the north because they respawn until you clear the bunker.
Now, seriously, wtf? My objective is to clear the crossroads, but I can't do it because there's an infinite enemy respawn right there. I'm supposed to KNOW to advance even when there are tons of guys coming out to hit some secret trigger point that will stop the advancement? Gimme a break

Yeah.

I don't like the expansion as much, it's a LOT harder, but I think it still has the same 'feel', just not in the same manner. I really want to be able to go around forests flitting in and out and taking out krauts at my whim. But unfortunately, I can't. LOL MINE FIELDS.

Still a good game, just not great like Call of Duty is.

I liked the expansion pack. More of the same but harder really. The bomber level was great.

I don't remember any infinite respawns in the original CoD

I do. One level where you had to take out certain people otherwise they would keep coming from all directions. It had a bridge with a river and a base on one side and a town on the other, and if you didn't attack where it was telling you it would last forever.

Yep, the bridge level definately had infinite respawns. Also the Soviet mission where you have to protect the four-storey building until reinforcements arrive.

I remember those now. But the objectives were clear at least - they told you what you had to do in order to win. But in this one, the objective is "clear the crossroads" which to me, the place where the roads cross is the "crossroads"

I do believe at some point the Sergeant tells you to clear the bunker with a grenade. :p

I could be wrong though.
