I really hate the Star Wars community sometimes....

people on the "starwars" thred at IMDB are going to the batman begins page, and rating batman begins a 1 out of 10, just to make the rating lower, cause batman is a 8.5 and Star Wars RotS is a 7.9... people need to grow up and realize that people have different opinions, and the majority though that Batman was better than RotS.... they need to grow up...

I always thought that the "rating" thing on there was so u could rate it however YOU wanted to rate it.... people are so ignorant.... I have to admit, I rated Batman a 10... and if I rated RotS, i would have given it a 5 tops...

There, I just voted Ep3 1, and Batman Begins 10.

And that's actually where I stand, pretty much.

yeah.. i wouldn't say a 1 though, cause u have to leave room for episode 1 & 2, and Batman & Robin and Batman Forever

I'd give Batman a blank cause I'm not seeing it yet, gonna take dad for father's day, Ep 3 gets a 2.

Who cares what a film is rated on an internet site anyways? It's like that hoakey "Greatest American" thing on the Discovery Channel. It's all nonsense.

edit - And what the hell is a "Star Wars Community" anyway. That's just damned scary.

This might sound unpopular but I think Batman is a lameass movie franchise. Why do they keep making them? And the whole, "Ohh, who's gonna play Batman this time?", thing. Gimme a break, are they trying to copy the James Bond series? Seems a lil contrived to me. But to each thier own.

Agreed - Batman has never been my favorite series, but it seems like they're trying to hype it to be something bigger then it is. It's opening was good, but not as high as expected.

I haven't seen it, so can't give my opinion on it.

However, if someone actually gave RotS a 1 - how many movies have you seen? There's so many worse movies that come out then RotS that actually deserve closer to a 1.

Even most video game sites rarely give anything a 1 because 5 is average and 1 would be something completely awful in every aspect.

I guess the people who would give RotS a 1 are those who would also say George Lucas raped their childhood.

And yet those people who give Ep3 a 1 and say that GL raped their childhood are a lot of the same people who, inexplicably, lined up for weeks to see it dressed as Jedi and saw it five times in the first three days after opening...

Considering the number of idiots who go around rating every movie they can a 1 just to lower the score, I'm sure IMDb has taken this into account when calculating scores. I doubt they'll ever be able to make a difference in the score.

Yeah, Ep. 3 was "meh" as opposed to Ep.1 and 2 which was more of "Oh my GOD MAKE IT STOP!" and "MY EYES!" respectively.... ok... maybe not THAT severe, but still.

With a bit of luck I'll be seeing Batman Begins later this week.

Does someone really care how IMDB's visitors rate movies? When i go there it's to get an actor's name or to see who directed a movie etc., not to find out who a clique of 12 year olds thinks would win in a fight between Darth Vader and Batman.

IMDb's message board is one of the levels of hell. Please don't call them part of "Star Wars community" as it just shines badly on others. They're just doing that because E3 opened with all the shiny colors to make their mind ask, "maybe theres more than Crayola has to offer?"

Basically, we're not with them.

I voted Batman Begins a 10.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

That's not uncommon at IMDB.

well, i don't know if it's common or not, but I just think it's really stupid and childish... a movie gets a better score than your favorite movie, so you submit false reviews so your favorite movie can be number one... that is so dumb to me... Batman tured out to be better than RotS.. deal with it...

They are lieing to themselves... it's like no matter what Lucas does.. its BRILLIANT to these people.... even if there is something horribly stupid, they pretend like it didn't happen... real fans of StarWars can admit that Lucas is a human, and he makes mistakes from time to time... These people are just obsessed... it's really quite sad... [/rant]

George Lucas raped my childhood...

And guess what?

I LOVED IT.

Don't IMDb members have to have a certain level of prestige (i.e. not wankers) for their vote to count to the total rating though?

The LotR fans are far worse though. They rated all the Star Wars films a 1, as well as the first two Godfather films to try and secure a #1 spot on the top 250. It's really quite sad.

I remember a similar thing when Terminator 3/The Matrix Reloaded came out as well.
