But wait, aren't androids part man part machine? I mean, yes, it's technical definition is 'of human features' but I have always lived with the assumption that they are half man half machine.

Cyborgs.

Robots are like C-3PO, R2D2, Robot from Lost in Space. They are machines that lack human features.

Androids are machines that have human features. Data, the Terminator, etc.

Cyborgs are organic with machine components. Robocop, Darth Vader, etc.

Actually robots are machines that are made to perform/replace a human function (classic example is monotonous/hazardous factory jobs). Or even broader, it merely is a machine that needs a computer component that allows it to "think" enough to do it's job (basically, move arm, paint car, reset arm back, wait for next car, repeat).

C3PO completely has human features.

And yeah there are two of them, a six year old girl and a middle aged woman, which is the one you are probably seeing.

I never said they weren't. I merely said they are machines that lack human features, as in physical. C-3PO, short of putting him in a tuxedo with a cap on, would not be confused for a human, thus he is a robot and not an android.

By human features, I mean fake skin. The moment the Terminator lost all it's skin, it was no longer an android. It was a robot, as an android has human features, not merely 2 arms and 2 legs that walked.

But that definition doesn't say it has to be able to pass as a human. It merely says it possesses human features and form. C3PO has the same form as a human basically, 2 legs, 2 arms, a torso, a head with eyes mouth nose etc. I believe he fits that definition of android quite well. R2D2 on the other hand clearly possesses no human features or form.

ok after watching the video, yeah, she;s cute.

I'd love to learn how to compress the android motivators and make her a love robot. thats the MAIN reason that sex staved chinese geek was making her.

£35/$35 says he fools around with her when the cameras turn off.

Heh, that's pretty neat. That part in the video on the main site, where they take part of her "skin" off to show the actuators and stuff underneath, reminded me of that one scene in Terminator 2...
