I fill out their damn forms at the end of March to cancel my room reservation. Lo and behold, they fail to process it and send me room information early in June. We call them, and they say they'll look into it.

Today, we get the bill for the room in the mail, so I call them. "Well, we have no record of you filling out the form."

"That's the problem," I say. "You lost my form."

"Oh, well. We're going to have to charge you the $50 penalty fee because you took too long to cancel your room."

"Is there any way I can get the full $300 deposit back?" I say through gritted teeth.

"Nope."

****ing *******s.

This calls for vandalism.

This is why you send such things in the mail return reciept. That way, they have to sign for it and you have proof they recieved what you sent, thus it being their fault that they lost it.

Avenger - I went up to their front desk and filled it out.

Find the person who you handed the form and pray to God they remember you.

I'll get the explosives. They can't charge you for a room that doesn't exist.........

Hey, I've been burned before too. That's why I always ask for a reciept or something when money is involved. Again, it's proof in your hands that you did everything right on your end.

If they don't. Make them remember you.

Don't pay it. Talk to the manager, the superindendent, whoever you have to talk to. If they refuse to reverse the charges, STILL DO NOT PAY IT. If they send you to collections, at least in WA state there is a law that says if you dispute the charges, IN WRITING, within 30 days of the notice that you have been sent to collections, they are barred by law from adding anything to your credit report, contacting you further about the issue, and they can't tell anyone you owe the money unless they have verifiable proof that the debt is valid.

They already have the money. It's a deposit he wants to get back.

They're also charging him a 50 dollar penalty fee.

Just goes to show you always have to follow up on stuff. You can't count on anyone these days.

I actually enjoyed school despite it being the worst in Folkestone (I did not moev to Ashford until later on) and I was fun. I was still at school when I found Massassi. Nice to look back on when I used to steal cigerattes out of the Deputy Head's office when I was prefect. I was seen as Mr Goody-Two-Shoes and well... I was 15 then

Just posting an update: sent them a letter, and they magically found my cancellation form. The $50 has been credited.
