Troy? I think not. The only movie I can see getting this type of distrinction that was released recently is the LotR trilogy. In my opinion all movies released now are crap for the most part, older movies are definately far superior. LotR ranks among the best. There is no number 1 in my book, just a long list of movies that are all equally good.

'Troy' has too many pretty-boys in it.

As does Greek mythology and epic verse. Your point? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

It however from all i can tell totally skips out aon all the mythology and legend [kallisti and the golden apple and all that], which makes me very sad.

LotR was far too predictable, and that comes from a guy who never read the books. I personally did not care for any of them, and only nerds (no offense, but I am one too) who are LotR worshippers truly loved the LotR movies and refuse to see anything bad in them.

Yeah... somehow, I think my sarcasm was missed...

Do you not realize how horrible Seed of Chucky will be? What about Soul Plane? That might actually make You Got Served look good.

Bad movies. The kind so bad, they make you wish all of humanity would be whiped out.

I haven't seen soul plane (with no intwentions of seeing it) but its the kind of movie thats so stupid that I think that you're not supposed to take it seriously.

Same with chucky. The first movie scared the hell out of me, as did the second, but chucky's becoming like Freddy or Jason-- simply not scary anymore.

Seed of Chucky looks lame... in my opinion anyways.

Yea, but the reason I watch the 56th Jason movie produced or whatever number it is... is because I wanna see a big badass chop up students with a knife the size of a sword.

The same goes for Chucky... but with more swearing.

1.) Gee, maybe it was cliched and predictable BECAUSE TOLKIEN INVENTED THE FANTASY GENRE?

2.) WTF? LotR ubernerds ***** and whine about all of the inaccuracies in the films almost constantly. In fact, I'm a pretty big LotR fan, and I complained heavily about how bad TTT was.

3.) As shocking as it may sound to you, LotR was the second most read book last century behind the Bible, so really I think it's time to accept the fact that the overwhelming majority of people would not agree with anything you say about it or the films. In fact, by sheer income alone it's pretty obvious that you're just talking out of your behind when you claim that only LotR uberfans liked the movies.

Seriously.

Indeed Jon`C. I saw RotK as being the best, FotR as second best, and TTT as being third in terms of rank. They're all pretty close together though. TTT just deviated far too much.

I never read any of the LotR books, but I found the movies to be far too predictable. By the end of RotK, all I wanted was for Frodo and Sam to die, but I knew that just wasn't going to happen, unfortunately.

The best movie ever is definitely Doctor Strangelove. In my opinion, of course, but then again, who else's opinion would it be?

YES.

Others would be...

2001: A Space Odyssey
Citizen Kane
Casablanca
The Red Violin
Alien
Patton
The Day the Earth Stood Still
etc., etc.

My mind is drawing a major blank (I'm doing this from school and we just finished a test.). I'll throw some more up when I get home.
