Favorite Horror Movie

Alright, I've included many of the popular horror movies. If your favorite is not on the list, simple choose other and say which movie it is. There is a reason for this thread, and that is because Land of the Dead comes out tomorrow!!! WEEEE!!!!

There was a Psycho series? I assume the sequels weren't that good.

Shoot, I should've put the Evil Dead series instead of the I know What You Did Last Summer series. Completly forgot about it!

why does everyone love Army of Darkness? The only reason i like it is because it was SOOOO bad it was good. Like everything was ****ed up and just sooo dumb, and thats why it was good for me.

i accidently voted friday the 13th when i meant nightmare on elm street, but meh Freddy VS Jason is close enough

It was so good because you suck.

And because it was clever, quirky, and a downright ***-kickin' good time.

Alien is the closest thing to horror I've ever seen, although not really a typical example of the genre; personally, I think the series is better categorized as Sci-Fi/Thriller. It's still good horror though, but is really in a league of its own.

But as for the actual movies themselves - brilliant. I can't imagine anything more scary than walking down a long dark, corridor with flickering lights buzzing on and off, cold steam rushing up from vents beneath you, wires swaying from the rafters all the while something stalking you - something smart, quick, powerful - a camouflaged and deadly oppenent capable of inflicting unspeakable horrors in the blink of an eye.

I'm such a movie lover! :D

I refuse to vote until the Evil Dead series is added.

I don't think any of those movies are really all that scary as they are gross...and I really don't like horror movies, but the last one that had me really scared was (sad to say) The Grudge. >_>

Well, I can't edit it (since only moderators can), so if a moderator would remove Scream (Series) and replace it with Evil Dead (Series), that'd be great. Also, I just put up the most popular horror movies that I could think of (not necessarilly the ones that I think are good, otherwise, several wouldn't be up there).

Also, money•bie, that's a great movie. I have the DVD with that extra feature art film about the slaughter house. Shocking stuff.

Evil Dead is very edgy. i mean, Ash is sounding like an absolute badass in one scene and a complete pansy in another. maybe that's just because in time he just goes nuts (and who wouldn't), but still...

anyways, i voted Alien. H.R. Giger's creature rocks.

I love Army of Darkness, but it never struck me as a horror movie...

Ash didn't really become a badass until the end. Before that, he was just a simple S-Mart clerk who had had a rough couple of days.

Army of Darkness is in no way a horror movie.

Yeah, you people need to get your heads checked if you were in any way frightened by Army of Darkness.

I think it's a goofy horror movie. It isnt a pure horror movie with all the comedy and adventure elements, but it would definitely be [insert genre here] / horror.

At any rate it's the sequel to Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2, which are both horror movies, and hence 'Evil Dead trilogy' is a perfectly viable answer for favourite horror movie.

Jaws, only the first one, and the Alien movies I suppose. I never really though of either as horror, but there are elements of the style to be found for sure.

heck yeah, Sadako makes Palpatine, Hannibal, Jason or other American movie "horror" guys look like a bumbling idiots. I only watched the first one though, I heard the sequel movies weren't so good. Anyone know anything about them?

i voted Night of the Living dead series, as Dawn of the Dead kicks unlimited amounts of ***, shame the remake has crappy running zombies.

The Shining and The Last House on the Left are also good.

Hannibal was totally cool, not in the same catagory as Sado.

Ring 2 was pretty crappy, Ring Zero was good - not like Ring at all, though.

I wouldn't really consider Last House on the Left to be a horror film. Sure, it messes with you, but not like a horror film should. After watching it, you really feel like you want to take a shower and clean the filth from yourself.
