I found out earlier tonight that one of my good friends from high school hung herself yesterday. Not only did she take her own life, but the life of her unborn baby.

After finding out she was pregnant, she asked her father if he could help support her when the baby was born, until she could get back to school.

He, however, completely shunned her, ashamed of her pregnancy, and told her he didn't want to have anything to do with her. That filthy turd probably feels incredibly guilty today, and rightly so. I can't believe he would be so unsupporting of his own daughter, who was a great kid.

We used to call ourselves "the b*tch buddies" - we were both on the student council in our two last years of HS, and had a knack for persuasive b****ing and making changes.

Much mojo-boosting needed. :(

She was on her own at college in Dartmouth. She wasn't living with her dad.

I think he means the man who helped conceive the child.

Oh. Of course.

Actually, I haven't a clue. Last time I talked to her was about a month and a half ago, and I only heard of her pregnancy when I was told the news earlier.

I've never lost anyone but grandparents, I can't imagine what you're going through. Just remember that it usually helps to talk to someone about it. Over the net works, but talking to ANYONE about it in person can help you feel a lot better. It doesn't have to be counseling, not in the slightest, but just someone to listen.

Oh come on, leave her father alone. It's not his fault she hung herself. That said, I'm sorry to hear about it.

Thanks, but I've been through this kind of thing before. I was with friends when I found out. I'll be fine. :)

I agree that it's not his fault. However, if he had been there for Robin, I'm sure this would've never happened. :(

Consentual sex = you buttered your bread + now eat it

I have a very hard time feeling sorry for people who put themselves in the position they were in.

If she was.. I dunno, raped or, date raped, or otherwise forced to receive a man's seed, then yeah. That sucks. Tragic and what not.

That's why I was saying, I don't blame her father for this.

She never took any **** from anybody, and was never one to give up when faced with a problem. There must've been something really bad going on that we didn't know about, because the Robin I knew wasn't one to crap out when in a bad situation. I don't think the pregnancy was the only factor. There must've been something else, and the pregnancy just put her over the edge.

I really don't know what happened.
