I got a speeding ticket

Well, the first attorney service I contacted online told me they couldn't do anything to help. I'm going to try and contact the attorney service that one of my roommates used when he got his speeding ticket. Maybe I'll have some better luck there.

I have a suspicion.

My hypothesis is that Insurance companies lobby to keep speed limits ridiculously low so people will be tempted to speed. That way, people get tickets and their insurance goes up, and the insurance companies win big time. On a side note, Have you also wondered exactly why it is illegal in some states to drive without car insurance? Score one more for the insurance companies.

208 Dollars for 20 over??!

That's nuts...

I've gotten 4 speeding tickets, all between 13 and 17 mph over and one for running a red light, and none of them have cost over like 70 dollars.

I've also gotten a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident (if you want to know what happened, ask... it's a rather long story...) but the ticket-side has been completely taken care of... got a lawyer, fought it (it was a false charge), and won, with no court fees, and no lawyer fees.

I've also had my license suspended for a month, which turned into almost 2 months because the A/C was broken when the court date to get my license back came around, and had to be pushed back... would have been longer, but we got my court date moved up...

I'm personally very twitchy about speed limits- which my brother used to my disadvantage. We were in a 50 mph zone, which had always been frought with cameras, and I was going at 50mph more or less to the dot. Halfway through the camera, my brother yells "TWENTY!"... I've never breaked so fast in my life...

Its a common thing speeding, as most people do it. However the driver is at fault for speeding as he/she is driving the veichle. You were obiviously speeding and just to keep the law off your back. Pay the fine and pay attention to the speed you're going at. So many people complain about being done for speeding, but its done to keep roads safe.
