Yesterday evening, I was driving along. It fairly late at night and the roads were pretty much deserted, and this Monte Carlo pulls out along side me and guns it past me. I caught up to him and we drove alongside each other for a while until we came to a light. Stopped at the light, he revs up his engine. I rev mine in response and shut off the AC. The light turns and we both take off. For the first few seconds I held with him, but then he started to pull away, but not nearly as quickly as I'd expected. I was driving a 98' Toyota corolla, completely stock (at the moment). He was in a Monte Carlo (probably '96 or '97 ish, maybe newer), and had quite obviously put some money into his car (I suppose it could have been all cosmetic, but I don't know).

Anyway, post similar experiences, thoughts, comments, etc...

Laughing at my spelling herts my feelings. Well laughing is fine actully, but posting about it is not.

uhh.. I got to about 90 mph.

The guy in the Monte Carlo probably hit 100.

There was turn and then another light coming up though.

I did that same thing last night...but I'm too much of a pansy because I backed down when we hit 70 on a 45 mph road.

I beat a Mustang once in our Volkswagon Eurovan. I don't think he was expecting me to be that fast. That van has balls.

I could beat all the kiddies' Civics at the quarter-mile with my '90 Plymouth Voyager, back when I had it.

Vans kick ***.

I once saw a tricked out dodge SRT almost beat a stock motoer cycle.

:D
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

There’s this one time I was sitting at a red light in the middle of a foggy night when a McLaren F1 pulled up from outta nowhere, like a tempting eidolon sent from the Mephistophelian mists of hell by the Devil himself, and it started to rev its damned, infernal engine, growling like a Titan, clearly in challenge of a moonlit race. Being the freewheeling spirit I was back then, I thought, why the hell not? I might as well get beat by the best. So the winking red light turned green, and I stood up from my lawn chair and we went flying down the road. It was awesome! I left skid marks on the road. For a minute, I almost thought I was going to have the pleasure of having the McLaren as a trophy, when the Fates thwarted me and my foot snagged on what must have been an open manhole. I ****ing BLAZED through the air, burst through a glass pane of an office building, and made a titantic hole in someone’s crappy little cubicle.

In conclusion, lol.
