Well I've ditched IE's nastiness and opted for Firefox - just one little irk: when I click on the new e-mail messages in MSN Messenger it brings them up (predictably) in an IE window, even though I've prevented access to IE in the Control Panel - any way of getting those e-mails to come up in Firefox instead?

Try using a replacement for MSN like Miranda or something. MS wants you to use their software. Unless you can find a setting for it somewhere, I will guess that you are out of luck (although I have never used MSN).

After using firefox, I have come to regard IE as a filthy prostitute with every disease known to mankind. if you use it, you WILL eventaully get spyware, viruses, hijackers, etc. no matter what precautions you take.

I just use Outlook Express to check my hotmail... I've never had problems with it.
