Come to the 2nd anual JSM Lan party!

My friend is hosting another lan party this year, and I gave him some webspace to get his site up. The cost is only like 20 bucks, and we'll have space for a CRAPLOAD of people. If any of you Minnessassians are interested, COME. But bring your PCs, because there's only 2 or 3 backup machines.

People I EXPECT to be there:

Cazor
Genki
Monoxide
SiliconC

People I hope to be there:
Buck and James
Flexor
Xantos
Wolfy

Hopefully we can have a mini-massassi gettogether!

[Maybe keep this thread alive with Lan stories?]

:( it would be difficult for me to swim across the atlantic and trek across America for that one :(

Plus kirby and genki would kill me for not releasing a certain something..
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Defeinatly coming if I can get me a ride. This'll rock
2005-06-26, 1:23 PM #5
Dang I'd love to come, but you're pretty far away from Ohio.
2005-06-26, 1:31 PM #6
Oh, and it's in Duluth, since I don't see that on the site.

Actually it does say where it is on the info page. Along with that, there is also a link to the google maps so you can get yourself some directions.
http://www.jsmlanparty.com/info.shtml - Info page.

What we're looking at here is a 65-player LAN. For those of you who do not have computers you can come as a spectator/console gamer. Spectators only pay $7 to get in.
It's a bit short on notice, but if you're planning to come as a PC gamer, register before July 1st and you'll be entered to win Battlefield 2. I picked it up the other day and it's fantastic for those of you who haven't played it yet.

The LAN goes 3 days and the money you pay at the door covers you for food on those 3 days, as well. Reed and Scott will be back in the kitchen cooking Tacos and Pizza, which as we all know are staples for us, right?
I'm not sure what other food we'll have, I'm leaving that up to them, but there'll be snacks as well. If you don't like what there is to eat, you'll have to make a food run for youselves.

And for god sakes, bring sleeping bags if you're planning on staying. Chris didn't sleep at all last year and on that third day he was speaking jibberish and drooling on himself. We don't want that to be you this year.

I didn't go last year, but all I can say is that from everything I've heard it was a freaking blast.

What are all of the games that'll be played?

Anything you can get people playing, we'll play.
That aside, we will having Counter-Strike, Unreal Tournament, AOE2, and a few other games that haven't been selected yet for tournaments (which will have prizes).
I'm not quite allowed to tell you what all we'll be giving for prizes, but rest assured, it'll be cool.

I would LOVE to come, except I have a little transportation problem, coming from CO and going to MN.

If any of you other Minnessassians are going, just FYI, I would like a ride if you would be willing, or if it would be possible. If not that's alright, I'll TRY to find one. Somehow.
BTW, I'm willing to chip in for gas.

I -might- possibly be in my hometown then, meaning I'd be only 2 hours away or so. So I might possibly maybe could come. We'll see.

Don't know.

Duluth is helluva drive really. It would be more of if my parents would actually let me. He could probably come too, though. However, he doesn't have a desktop that could play those games.

For those not bringing PC's or coming to spectate, there will be various consoles for their enjoyment.

I'm considering trying to put a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament together, but if someone running the show were to win a tournament would you all think it was rigged? Would anyone else want to be in it? I'm absolutely positive that I would win, no matter who were to show up.

He's not joking, either. There's a difference between being egotistical, and being right. No one can beat him.

Had this been a few months ago, I might have considered it. But now instead of a 5 hour drive or so it would be a 2 and a half day drive. So Im out :(

Damn! I was just in Minnesota not less than 3 days ago for a work conference. Too bad it's about a 2 day drive away now.

You will be able to sleep (for free) at the place of the LAN. Just bring a sleepin' bag or something. And leave one eye open so kirby doesn't molest you.

Meh, I'm sure it'd be fun, but a 22 hour round trip+1-3 days is a bit difficult to schedule around a 40 hour work week. :(

That, and the fact that my parents probably won't drive me to Minnesota to a party with people none of us have ever met. (In person) :o

Me, Genki, SiliconC, and even JorBo are probably going to be there. Monoxide is hoping to get there, but I don't know how likelly that'll be.

A group of lurkers here at massassi are coming, too.
