If you could run this little app and just post here and let me know if it detected your network card(s) or not and what version of Windows you're running, that would be awesome.

Thanks.

It detected my network card, but not Windows. And it showed me the name of my network card twice.
Life is beautiful.

Oh it's not supposed to show your Windows version, I just wanted that to be included in your post for the purpose of compatability testing (I know it should work fine under 2k and XP).

If it showed your NIC twice that's not too much of a problem.

It worked for both of mine :)

Running WinXP Pro.

I'm running Windows XP Home Edition (Service Pack 2 + all other Windows Updates)

It detected both my Realtek NIC and my Broadcam 802.11b/g WLAN Card. (built into my laptop)

That's a debug version isn't it...

Worked fine on Win XP Pro w/ SP2.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

OMG ITS A VIRUS...

:p

It detected my network/ethernet fine, but it didn't say anything about which OS I was using (XP Pro sp2)

Yeah, didn't bother to change the compiler options to make it any smaller.

And it's not surprising it's showing an old card, since all it's really doing is looking at driver-created registry entries, and if those drivers were never uninstalled the entry they made is still there.

XP Pro, worked fine... But it also detected a Gigabit LAN card that's not currently installed, but that I do have the drivers for, as I had it installed a while back.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Code:
gbk@katherine:~$ wine NICid.exe
This app should spit out the names of your valid physical network adapters:

Press Enter to exit...

Hmm, Id say it fails in Wine... ;)
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Wouldn't expect it to considering what it's looking for...
