I'm not trying to start anything or anything... but was that absolutely necessary?

Sometimes these things leave people with little to say beyond R.I.P or something... which I would simply guess is because he or she may not have known the person.

I know, for me, that it's hard for me to say much about the death of someone I didn't know (famous or not) because I didn't know the person. I won't say it's not sad or anything, but I sometimes just can't say anything beyond R.I.P. especially if I haven't seen something the person may have been in or heard songs by the person, or something along those lines.

But at least it shows some interest to say "R.I.P." Being a message board, it's fairly simple to just simply read the thread and article, and not reply at all... so to say something at all at least shows a certain level of compassion... not to say not posting is disrespectful, because sometimes you may not want to say something simply because it's been said a million times or something.

Anyway, I apologise for ranting; and, as I said when I began, I did not intend to start anything... and I apologize if I upset anyone... and if so, please feel free to P.M. me, and tell me, so I at least know, or can explain something, and keep the thread on-track by not starting a side-conversation.

ANYWAY, onto the topic at hand...

I do not remember having ever heard any of Vandross' songs, but many people have, and I'm sure he had a number of friends and family.

He will be missed by many.

May he rest in peace.

I dont know how many "Guess who died today" threads we've had on people that aren't even as remotely famous or had as much of an impact as he has, and they've had TONS of responses.

I think I may have, very well, misunderstood your post.

It seemed like you were saying that in response to what tinny said, as if to say that you thought he should have had more to say...

But after that post I realized you were probably saying it in reference to the overall lack of replies to the thread.

I apologise for my mistake, assuming I did actually interpret it wrong, and it certainly seems as if I did.

Well, other than a vague familiarity with the name, before clicking the link I had no idea who he was.

Hope he rests in peace though.
