Arrrgh..I hate them!!! I was working in a bushed area for only an hour last night, with no repellent on, and I swear, I have about 20 of these damn things.

Watch out for West Nile...I seriously think this is going to become a hugeee problem and all the mosquitoes will get it and pass it on to us.

Get some deep woods repellant. The stuff with deet in it. The other stuff is crap.

I live in Manitoba, right about you then. And I've never been scared of it. I put the spray on and everything because I hate bites, but I just don't lose sleep over the fact that there's West Nile.

Hobidge?

It's like...a crossing of a hobbit and a midget.

There were really only a few cases of West Nile, and mostly with the elderly. I have noticed that there are very few crows and ravens now, come winter since west nile came around.

That means you're ripe. Take showers DAILY and use anti-persperant deoderant.

You want repellant with a lot of DEET in it. I have a few bottles lying around from when my dad and brother went to Tinnerman for canoeing years ago. It's like 100% DEET in a spray bottle. Bugs won't touch you with a 40 foot pole.

Stouts are the worse. They pretty much hunt you down and WILL. NOT. leave you alone until you kill them. You can't even run from them. They are the devil reincarnated in huge fly form.

Typical media over-hyping. West Nile will get you sick, nut if you're healthy (and not really old or young), it's not going to kill you.
Pissed Off?

Yes. I just played a show. It was night. Plenty of mosquitos. 'Twas horrible.

I think lyme disease is more of a threat than West Nile.

I know it's not deadly at all. That doesn't mean it wouldn't be a big problem.

Seriously. Besides, use a good DEET product and any bug that touches your skin will practically curl up and die.

Yes, for the most part West Nile is simple media overhype. The majority of those infected (a number small in itself) experience no problems and do not even suspect that they have the disease. A small percentage of those infected will only have flu-like symptoms, but in rare cases, someone will fall victim to catastrophic hemmorhaging of blood vessels located in the brain, killing them quickly.

West Nile can cripple you, it probably won't kill you but it isn't a good idea to just brush it off as harmless.

I ctually got the west nile virus. The year was 2002 and i went to colorado for a summer vacation. On the way back i had large rashes on my body and had a fever. I went to the doctor and was told i had west nile. Meh, it wasn't really bad but i got plenty of attention and sympathy.

I was actually up at tahoe this 4th of july, it was amazing i puit on no reppelent in three ddays and never got one bite. It was pretty cool.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

These damn things are a pain in the *** (and anywhere else they get you). I just got back from Kentucky and sat down in the grass near a forest with my family without using bugspray and they were all over me. Bites can stay on you for 2 weeks or more before fully healing and if you scratch they easily get infected.

No associated diseases but the itching is insane and I have 20+ bites on me from feet to waist and one on my arm.

Their name also irritates me to a lesser extent. I also recieved countless mosquito bites on my trip, and honestly, they're nothing compared to this. Mosquito bites are easy to ignore but these things are insane, the first few days I was on antihistamines to dull it down some but every time my clothing would shift it would itch/hurt like hell.

Half the time you don't contract it even when you get bitten by an infected misquito. So suck it.
It's not THAT tough here in Minnesota.
