This week I am curious about which people prefer better. Thanks to SAJN_Master's post and enlighting us with the ultimate time-killer, Gunz - The Duel.

So, making it simple...what do you prefer? Cutting your opponets head off, tearing them limb by limb until all you have is a pile of meat...or blasting them to an oblivion?

Now in this situation, it's not Swords vs. Guns. Instead, if you choose one side, it will be totally that side...such as if you're like me and prefer swords, you will be fighting others with swords.

I am curious to what traditional fighting tactics different people have, so please post what you think.

P.S. Guns will include all long range weapons, such as pistols, carbines, rifles, and heavy weapons such as flamethrowers and bazookas.

Well, if it's in gladiator mode, I prefer fighting with swords the best, but if it's sword vs. guns that's just suicide.

They made a number of those back in the sixteenth century. The fact that you don't find them today except in Japanese video games says something about their utility.

That's what I wear when I go to the park, or if I have to go buy some milk.

Guns. Remember what happened to the guy with the sword when he challenged Indy in Raiders of the lost Ark?

In some games, I'd prefer swords, even if it was swords vs guns. The dragon tooth sword in Deus Ex has the power of a sniper rifle when untrained with them. Trained they are much more powerful. A swing to the head with that thing from behind is gonna kill him.

One time I was starting a pacifist game, and stunned someone with the prod. They stood there, shaking. I stunned them again, same reaction. A third time brought the same thing, so I said "Screw it" and knifed his head.

Ah, good times.

You can gib a child with one stroke of the nano sword.

Or a freezer full of chickens and pigs.

I use sabers for JO/JA, but other than that it's strictly guns

Swords + Gunz:

Charge up the sword ( daggers dont work, and who uses double sowrds?), pick someone out and hit them, they get stunned then you hit them with the revolver or shotgun

Revolvers > shotguns > swords > all other guns

This is very related to the age old debate of cowboys versus samurai, and it's obvious who I side with.

okay, i sort of fixed my 999.

i stick to my Colt. or whatever it's called in that game. a dagger's pretty useful, too. much more useful than the sword. you can make a man go down and fill him with bullets - a sword would just make him fly.

i'm level 11 now. pretty much everyone's got a machinegun and double uzis. revolvers and pistols just don't have the speed.

on a different note, how many of the people using the female player model do you think don't have a penis?

I like the WWII vintage German Kar98 most out of any guns, and I like katanas most out of any swords.

I use the revolvers, shotgun and double swords and I do just fine, thank-you.

Well, since my little armoury of airsoft replicas and assorted weapons features:

FNP90
Colt M4
Uzi SMG
Hardballer Shotgun
Desert Eagle (one spring, one electric)
Beretta M92FS
and
A lightsaber (the Blue Obi-Wan with vibration)

I think my bias is towards guns...

You could just have practically any assault rifle with a mofo'ing huge bayonet on the end - double tapping taking to a new level... stab and shoot!

Anyways the dagger makes you fall down but its still easy to jump out of it and land on your feet, however witht he sword when people get extrta good at the game they launch you and shoot your body as it flies up and as you fall back down, also you can swing then switch weapons really fast.
