So I bought La Femme Nikita at the weekend...

Yeah, we were watching this Luc Besson film in French the other day (I know, my French lessons rule) and I decided to buy it. It's freakin' awesome (in French with English subs of course, the American voice-overs are dire) stuff even though it's 15 years old (in that sense it gives it its charm). That, and I was able to name just about every gun in the film, which is a bit sad, but it was also rather good.

Anyone else seen it or the remake, Assassin?

Saw it. We laughed at how horrible the ending was.

My memory tells me it was a good enough film. Though it was many, many years ago when I saw it.

It was a very well done film, but I didn't feel very satisfied at the end. Jean Reno's character > * . The director's other films are worth mention as well, I'm a huge fan of Leon the Professional.

Fifth Element also ruled. I agree the ending was sudden to Nikita, but then it leaves it open - what happened? But my fondest memory is still an early scene we watched in French where she shoves the pencil through the police chief's hand. All the girls in the room screamed and I just cracked up at how funny it was (got some strange looks mind you.)

I've got the Assassin on DVD, while its not the best film in my collection I still like to watch it now and again. I think I've seen the original when I was younger but cant really remember it. I love the tv series based on the original, pity I miss so many of them.

Is this the film with the krazy chick that gets drafted into working for some French special police force? If so, seen it...pretty good.
