You crazy Canadians...

They should throw all copyright law out and rewrite it so it makes sense.

Why not just put a little disclaimer at the bottom of every search result page along the lines of "All material linked from this page is copyright its corrosponding owner(s)." stfu, canada.
2005-07-13, 12:37 AM #9
All Google really has to do is put a disclaimer on their page that says some searches may yield copywrited material and so on.
Pissed Off?

I highly doubt this will come to pass, because I don't see any graphic designer, net researcher, programmer, or any fricking person that uses the fricking internet living without it.

If they do that, I'm marching to ottawa and kicking the living **** out of the idiot. lol

If you want crazy, go to Newfoundland.

Best. Place. Ever. This is one place where people will actually say hello to you on the street, or even wave to you when you drive by eachother in cars.

"Gonna smur a litte paint on the brudge"
"I'm going paint the bridge" (bridge being a porch"

"I'm farty far"
"I'm fourty four"

"I'm tardy tree"
"I'm thirty three"

"Oooh me nerves"
"My nerves!"

"LORD TUNDERIN JESUS MY SON!! WHADAYA DOIN DOWN DER NOW?!!? DONT MAKE ME TAKE ME BOOT AFF"

(guess that one, ;))

Dinner = lunch
lunch = bedtime snack

fader = father

mudder = mother

galbattin = out and around

Theres tons more, and this is way Newfies are some of the coolest people in the world. They DEFINED what it is to drink a lot

You people are confusing canadians with Scots. Yes we say hoose and some people say aboot.
nope.

There are always 'those countries to the North' for a good reason. The US has Canada, we in England have Scotland. The climate is always less hospitable up in those areas and it's always very hostile terrain. Need I say any more? ;)

It's not hostile, it's just that you english never go out in the hills. It's rather easy to ramble around. ;)
nope.

obviously if you've grown up in canada, you're not going to realize some of the quirks your accent has. likewise for anyone growing up anywhere else; you just don't notice your own accent, because it's how you've grown up speaking, and it's how everyone around you speaks

and yes, people with canadian accents often say things like "aboot". I've known a couple of canadian families, and while the accent is usually very, very subtle, it's there
Moo.

If the government were to follow the letter and not the spirit, then, yes, I'd say it sounds probable that Google will be illegal in Canada.

Let's hope, then, that the Canadian government has some brains.

I bet you the very guy who want to close them down, uses google to send pirate moves across the net.....

Seriously, this is like making the windows search function illegal, just because some or maybe even the user put something illegal on their comp and the search engine could find it. Canada, I've never been agaisnt you, now feel my wrath! :mad:
Nothing to see here, move along.

I'M Canadian, and I've NEVER heard a Canadian say Aboot. You're mistaking us for some other society, and I'm think british or australien. The only myth about canadians that is true is our "Ay".

If you heard a canadian say aboot, it was probly a french quebecer who doesn't know how to read english, since in french bout reads as boot.

So let me get this straight...

You can download music legally...

But might not be able to use a search engine because of copyright issues?

Either I'm missing something with either situation... or something just isn't right.
