This would be my first MMORPG that I might actually pay a monthly fee for. It all depends if they actually made Middle-Earth as large as it is. If it's that epic, then yes, I would play.

I was wondering how the heck this game could have slipped by my everwatchful eye and been released.

I for one am definatly getting it next winter (if ratings are good and Oblivion and Gothic III don't hook me up too too too much)

As far as I know, they aren't releasing all of Middle Earth at once, but it's been a while since I've read anything about it.

Also, the thing that worries me about this is that it's not associated with Newline or the films, so don't expect to stroll into the Rivendell, Bree, or Shire you're used to seeing.

Seeing that nearly every fantasy world created in the latter half of the last century has liberally stolen from Middle Earth and diffused its originality, along with the fact it doesn't seem like it's bringing any extraordinary features to the table, this game will probably seem like just another generic MMORPG.

This is Turbine... They had a couple of good years before they ran everything into the ground and everything from them since has been pretty crappy.

But I'll never play another MMO again because they're all too much of a time waste and generally all a major bore after you've played a dozen or so of them...
