Family Guy thread.

Anyone who watched Family Guy knows that the show has *huge* amount of references to popular movies, events, culture, shows, etc. Many are easy to get, some are harder, and a few no one here might understand. So, let's make a simple quiz out of them. The poster mentions a memorable reference from an episode that he/she truly knows, without doubt what it is about. The below posters try to guess where it came from. If a below poster is told he/she is right, or thinks he/she is 99.99% sure of being right, he/she can offer a question. Blah, blah, you know how it works. Don't be too vague or too hard. I'll start.

In the episode where Peter decides to be a fisherman, he and his buddies rides a boat to find Daggermouth fish for the $50,000 reward. Along the way, they see a strange man on top of the rocks with a funny outfit, with long arms, babbling in a weird voice. What movie is this reference from?

Alright I'll go.

The episode where there was one brain cell left in peter's brain. And he wants to read all the books and then the glasses fell off his face and broke. And the Cell says "It's not fair! It's just not fair!"

I also think Futurama did this too.

"... There was time now!"

Twilight Zone. If not that, then that show that was like the Twilight Zone, but not quite as good, and apparently not as memorable.

You really should give people more than a few hours to take their turn. A day at least.

Bah, I'm suddenly drawing a blank.... uh....

Peter becomes a master pianist when he's drunk. Lois uses this ability, and enters him in a competition. What song did Peter play to win this competition?

In the episode when Cleveland is about to beat Quagmire with a baseball bat, a dark-robed old man with a cane walks up and says something along the lines of "Good! Let the hate FLOW through you!"
What little-known film is being referenced here?

Nope. He played that song before the competition when he needed more "Talent Juice".

Roseanne theme or whatever? It was one of those ****ty tv show themes.

Peter played the theme from Mary Tyler Moore.

Someone else take my turn if that's right, I havn't watched family guy in a long time and I don't remember a lot of them.

Stormtrooper makes it after all.

Yes, Peter did play a few songs in that episode, but the song played at the competition was the Mary Tyler Moore theme.

Star Wars: RotJ?

There's a lot of Star Wars cut-in's. Seth's actually a big fan of them.

For example, the cut-in for Laser Eye surgery where Luke tells this woman everything will be fine, and Obi-Wan Kenobi tells Luke to use the Force. He dose so, lifting the saber and thrusting it into her eyes. He ask Kenobi, "There. Are you happy now?" He replies with "I never been happy. :("

The one where Stewie and Bryan are walking in the Mall, and Stewie claims it's too unsafe for him to be woundering around the mall by himself. So he jumps on Bryan's back and tells him "That's right...feel the Force flowing through you." Bryan replies, "Ugh...I don't believe this."

"That is why you fail".

Also the incident in "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater" where Peter becomes rich and acts like a rich person too. Bryan pulled out his star wars glass to make a point that Bryan "Created" the snobby personality Peter, and used the line "in a way...I am your Father!" Peter's right hand was tucked under his bath robe and cried out "That's not true...that's impossible!"

Also the time where Peter host his beard as a nest for three chippies (birds...in this case, chicks). He related two of the birds (by placing the character's face on the chicks') Chris and Stewie, and on the last one he hesitated for a moment and finally just placed a pink mandolorian helmet on it.

Then there's the time Lois became frustrated with Peter, and he claimed to her, "Lois, if you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine!"

Then there's the time that Lois asked Peter to fix the water leak in the bathroom. Peter said "I already fixed it.", which to Lois denied. "Oh come on, I'll give you all my Star Wars action figures if I'm lying...besides Boba Fett. No matter how true I know the situation is, I won't risk the Fett Man"

I am sure there's a lot more, and I am also sure that this is irrelevent and also I made mistakes.
