I need a converting program

I need you to point out any image converters/editors that meet these criteria.

  • Needs to be freeware (preferably; shareware works too)
  • Must be able to save in PCX format (specifically, the pcx file output must be readable with Deluxe Paint 2 -- the several programs I've tried ("Vicman's Photo Editor", and "Image Converter and Editor") output incompatible files)

Thank you in advance. I appreciate any help you can give.

I just checked, and Ifranview can save files as PCX. It's a very neat little image viewer as well.

The useful programs thread

I'll have it converted and up on my website in a week or so, just in case anyone cares. And then I'll stick a link in my sig and the commons shall rejoice.

The GIMP. It can do that, and sooo much more.

I used to believe that we must fight the future, lest change come without our consent. I was wrong. The truth is that we must embrace the future, for only with change can we remain the same.

Slowview is also capable of saving images in .pcx format.

Sorry, I forgot to thank you all for replying.

Thanks. I tried SlowView and it worked near perfectly (it reorganizes the palette, removing unused colors, which I'd rather it didn't do, but yeah... it works for what I needed it for). Thanks. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]
