Anyone looking forward to this movie? The trailer was just released today:

I must say, it does look pretty badass.

Hmmm... 4% downloaded... I'm beginning to think that I should have got the standard definition trailer - especially since my computer screen isn't even physically capable of displaying 1920*1080

I watched the Quicktime 6 large version first, then let the HD version download in the background.

29% now... i took the time to do a bit of background research though; it's based off a graphic novel/comic book kind of like Sin City... looks like a neat story in any case.

Does it come out the 5th of November?

The Wachowski Bros. adapted it for the screen and are producing it I believe. John McTeigue is directing. The movie is coming out on November 4th, since it is a Friday - its rare for a movie to premiere on a Saturday.

"Remeber remeber the...fourth of November?"

It would be cool to see The Wachowski brothers awesomenize the movie, and with Natalie Portman in it...

Wow. My two favorite movies.

As long as they don't awesomenize it like they "awesomenized" Reloaded and Revolutions... but yah, Natalie Portman makes any movie worth watching (Garden State notwithstanding).

I can take false advertising at the expense not sounding as cool as, "Remember, remember, the fifth of November."

I for Incredibly Choppy Video in the HD trailer.

Now my curiosity has been piqued - what, precisely, are the system requirements for running the HD trailer at normal framerate? And who, outside of IBM or the NSA, has such immense processing power?

The 1920*1080 version? I'm on an Athlon 64 3400+ system and I'm getting around 2 fps, tops. It's strange, because I can play the HD version of Terminator 2 with no slowdowns whatsoever.

There's a difference between HD and 1080P. Intel processors will do better playing HD videos, it's no secret. That's probably why Timewolf is getting better Framerate. Either that or you got a draw somewhere on your system.

But Pentiums still suck ;)

Well, T2 is 1080i, I think, but still... I think I should be getting more than 2 frames a second.

Going from 1080i to 1080p is like going from 1024x to 1600x. It's a big step. You never know.
