Music to frag by?
2004-05-18, 10:06 AM #1
Anyone remember this old thread? I did a search and it seems to be gone, did anyone ever save a copy of it? I'm starting up the FPS online stuff again, and I need some good stuff to play with.

Thanks.
If no one has it around, let's make this into that thread again!

A few I can think of
Bodies (of course...)
The Still

and eh yea that's it. I'm musicly deprived, I just listen to the radio or what freinds have, I don't really know much.

Cold Logic - The Infinite Void

Also, shouldn't this be in the music forum?

Uh... generally any FF Battle Medley works for me, especially when I've successfully managed to splice it into a loop.

Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Steppenwolf
Cake
Iggy Pop (+ the stooges)
Tea Party
Jimi Hendrix
non-whiny Radiohead tracks
Anything that isn't overly distracting and keeps me in a good mood is the norm.

The above bands make for perfect music for launching a aerial assault with five heavies from a transport in Tribes 2. Paint it Black is a no-brainer for causing mayhem from an aerial mount.

Massive Attack - Angel, from the Mezzanine album is an excellent for airborne insertions or sneaky-******* black-ops stuff in general.

Simply sublime in the right context.

Coldcut, DJ Shadow, Herbalizer or other Ninja Tunes stuff is good too. Mouse on Mars, Kruder + Dorfmeister, Peace Orchestra, Aphex Twin's ambient albums, and Autechre make for good ambient electronica.

Upbeat Reggae, dub, or ska is nice too. "Stand up for your Right" works really well for button-mashing fighting games.

Then of course you've got your good ol' Manowar, Motörhead, Iron Maiden and Spinal Tap-like 80's rock monsters which work well since they're so cheesily over the top.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

Aphex Twin has some weird music, I have a few albums. But it's interesting nonetheless, I wouldn't really reccomend it as music "to frag by" though :P

HAHAHAHA IN BEFORE DA LOCK!! HAHAHAHA

Ahem. Anyway, the best fragging music would have to be that hard rock angry stuff. Ya know, Drowning Pool - Bodies, or Children of Bodom - Hate Me!
Disturbed - Down With The Sickness
Etc, etc.
