got bored, so i finally got around to beating Quake 2

i realized not long ago... and not long after i finished HL that i never completed Quake 2... in fact when i last tried to play through before this time i kept running into crashes and lockups in the jail area... though that was on the old computer so i am not surprised...

well a little over a week ago i decided to start it and play through... then after i got done (while the final boss looks cool... he is too easy) i installed the first mission pack and just completed it tonight... same friggin final boss but instead of an escape pod you have to find your way (not hard) to a ship in the cargo area (which happens to be a human ship) ... all i have left now is the other mission pack

i must say for those who never have played through Quake 2 you should...

and now... the final boss... much meaner looking than HL's mutated fetus

Yeah, I remember that bad boy. Other than his BFG shots, he wasn't hard to beat as long as you use the pillars for cover and run underground to get the power ups. The fact that his head was a railgun was pretty funny.

Basically, if you've made it that far, the last boss doesn't stand a chance - too much room to manouver - but the secret area underneath him made up for the fact it takes no effort whatsoever to put him out of his misery... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

I bought Quake 2 the week it was released. I started playing it last September. But I didn't finish it, as something in it crashed and I lost my interest.

Yes, that's the best easter egg ever.

I generally like to apply a quad damage or two to the mini-gun weapon (forget what its called exactly) and let the boss have it. It takes less than a minute to waste him with this method. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

There are more powerful weapons, but they take too long to fire and it's best to destroy him quickly before he starts shooting BFG10K's at you..

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.
