They claimed there weren't any demons from hell but instead 'zombies' but I thought I saw a hellknight and an Imp in there somewhere. Anyway the movie looks like 90% of the other movies that have cool trailers but suck. I hope it doesn't suck, but I mean....come on.

the sad thing is, for them it doesn't even matter if it's going to suck or not - millions of people are going to go and watch it either way.

They should have a little portrait of the Doom guy at the bottom of the screen for the duration of the film, showing him gradually taking damage with each poorly acted scene, bad piece of dialogue and plot hole. At the end of the movie the portrait vomits.

The DVD special edition will let you choose the color of his vomit.

why do they do this, i don't understand. why not simply omit ALL plot and make it teh sex of Doom (1) on Ultra-Violence? i mean, everyone would watch the movie anyway - but that way, it might even get a sort of following. i mean, i'd LOVE this to be a trash movie with mindless mayhem for the plot. sadly, considering that this movie is described as the "big screen adaptation of the Doom 3 video game", that's not going to happen.

well, at least it's not going to be as bad as the first Lara Croft movie (didn't see the second). that's simply impossible.

I bet they are going to do the same thing they did with AvP. Make it a PG-13 so more people go see it.

(I enjoyed Tomb Raider...but the second one did suck something awful :p)

Looks to much like RE to me. I loved RE though and can't wait for the next one. Might see this though.

I think it actually might be good. Its on mars, has marines, and monsters. Sounds like Doom to me.

Wow. You guys didn't hear about it already? The whole "unnamed planet instead of mars, zombies instead of demons, no hell, etc" thing was a hoax. They made a press release about a week ago stating that the movie is going to be as true to the game as possible. Let me go dig up the links.

It looks like it'll be good, at least on an entertainment level. This kind of movie doesn't come across as anything that would involve a strong plot anyways so I'm not gonna set my expectations too high on this film.

It seems like they are trying to rip off Aliens way too much, it just seems forced.

I don't suppose you actualy watched the trailer? You might want to give that a shot.

If it's anything like the game, it wil suck. Simply because the game has no real story. You just kill stuff.

Wouldn't it rock? There was on scene in Constantine that was pretty Painkiller-ish (When they put the cross in the water supply and he went shotgun crazy on everyone). Imagine that for like 2 hours.

Looks pretty faithful to the game... It'll probably be ok. The whole story/setting is good enough to make a semi-decent movie.

Looks almost exactly like Doom 3... which is okay by me, seeing as I loved the game, for its graphics. Call me shallow. :p

The only problem with what I saw was the part where someone kicks a hell knight and it falls down... if I had my way with that, the hell knight wouldn't budge and just slaughter the guy.
